Life is a Cabaret

Only wrote one today (but I'm really tired and I have a sore throat and cramps), but I like this one. Theme today was opposites.

"Did you hear?"

"--that's right, that's what I--"

"--believe it, it's so incredible. How--"

"--yes, Sirius Black, that's right--"

Remus walked through the crowd of people in Diagon Alley calmly, as if Sirius had not just escaped from Azkaban, as if wanted posters were not showing up everywhere, as if he wasn't going to be the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher so that he could protect Harry from Sirius.

Someone smashed into him from behind, and knocked him against a wall. "Sorry," the person mumbled, and walked on. Remus stared after him for a moment before continuing on to Flourish and Blotts.

"--Black, and did you hear what he did to Pettigrew? Bloody brutal--"

Stop talking about Sirius! Remus wanted to yell. He wanted to Silence them all so that he wouldn't have to hear the words "Sirius Black" echoing around his head and making him remember what he wanted to forget, everything he wanted to forget, like the sound of Sirius's laugh, the way his mouth crinkled at the corners when he smiled, the way he kissed Remus like Remus meant something to him--

I'll probably never forget, he thought, threading his way through the crowd. These people, and Dumbledore, and my own mind...they won't let me.

Remus pasted a pleasant expression on his face, and walked on.

First of all, my forearms are aching. We did some hand-to-hand stuff today in swordfighting, in case we're disarmed, and blocking...ow. But we did it enough that I'm sure, should someone come at me in one of the three ways that I learned to block, I could stop them. I might break my arm in doing so, but I could stop them. :p

Also, today I discovered something quite interesting. I usually take showers at night, since I don't want to get up early enough in the morning, but last night I was tired and so I had a shower this morning. And since I hate blow dryers, I let my hair air dry. You know what it does when I let it do that?

It turns into corkscrew curls. And it's not that there's anything wrong with corkscrew curls, but...it makes me think of...innocent little girls. Like Shirley Temple. And you know, while I may be able to tap dance, and I like to think I do it well, I'm no Shirley Temple. And certainly no innocent little girl. Look below at the last drabble if you doubt.

More queerditch_pub today. I did three out of the five rounds, and there was SO MUCH REMUS. In the last round there were two Remus/Sirius prompts o_O. So is it surprising that all the drabbles I did were R/S? :p Theme was close quarters, and again, collective G/PG. I seem to have a problem with high-rated drabbles...

Today was the first round of queerditch_pub, and was much fun. For three of the rounds, I managed to write two of the prompts :D. Theme today was Changes, and again, all are a collective G/PG. I sat out one of the rounds, but that was because all the prompts were bestiality o_O.
