i. I feel like Roman numerals today.

ii. I am so ridiculously tired. Gah.

iii. I have to go back to work tomorrow. Bah. Through a reduction in hours and a quirk of scheduling, I got eight days off in a row. I got called in on one of them, but that still left me with a lot of time off when previously I'd been working basically full-time but never with more than one day off in a row. And it's nice to make more money, but I do love lazing around. :p

iv. Though speaking of work, this week I am going to give in my two weeks' notice! It feels odd to leave so soon because I'll have only worked there for two months by the time I leave, but I do have to go back to school.

v. Also, some friends and I are going to Vegas in mid-August. A few days in Vegas, and then we go to Sacramento for some concerts. Well, the friends are going to Warp Tour and Green Day, but Warp Tour's not my thing so I'm just going to Green Day. And I have family in Sacramento, so I don't have to worry about a place to stay or anything. So basically I'm going to be out of town August 16 through about the 25th, which is why I'm giving notice at work so soon though I'm not going back to school until like the 29th.

vi. My computer's power cord is crapping out. Again. After only like six months. Fortunately, though, that means it's still under warranty, so I do not need to pay $90 for a new one! On the other hand, apparently the Apple store requires me to even have a reservation to make an exchange, which is...whatever. But I couldn't do it today, so I made an appointment for right after work tomorrow. An appointment to make an exchange. *shakes head*

vii. I'm still so tired, and I have work early tomorrow. I'll answer comments later. Good night.

So pretty much ever since I first watched Boondock Saints I've wanted that beautiful Celtic song in the beginning, except I never knew what it was. I don't know why it's taken me so long, but I finally looked it up on imdb, and it was happily on iTunes, so now I'm listening to "The Blood of Cu Chulainn" on repeat because I love this song.

Also, I saw on imdb that there is apparently a sequel to Boondock Saints in the works. Sequel! I really hope it isn't a sequel that sucks.

Speaking of movies, apparently my flist is going crazy over Star Trek. I didn't even know there was a new ST movie until people on my flist saw it. Then again, I've seen a grand total of one Star Trek episode ever and I don't remember much except that there was Q. So, my question to you, flist: can even people who haven't seen the show appreciate the movie?

Have finished three of the four papers due on Monday. At least two of them need some editing, and I'm sure the one I'm going to do tomorrow and Sunday will as well, but I can do that.

Tonight I went to campus films with [livejournal.com profile] heart_of_man, and this weekend's was Mamma Mia, which I love. And of course it got me into the mood to listen to ABBA, but I don't actually have that many ABBA songs. So I went to iTunes to buy a few more, but iTunes is being annoying. I try to listen to that thirty-second preview they have of each song, but every few seconds it needs to "rebuffer stream", so the song ends up taking two or three times to load.

Anyone know what's up with this, and what I can do to fix it? I've got the latest version of iTunes, so I know it isn't that.

Also, I am ridiculously tired and am so going to bed soon. *snoozes*

Just got back from seeing Crosby, Stills, and Nash.

Great concert! I was one of the youngest there, which amused me, but which I expected. There was no opening act, which I was fine with, and they opened with Marrakesh Express, which I love. Other songs I love they played were: Love the One You're With, Our House, Southern Cross, the Buffalo Springfield song For What It's Worth, and then they closed with Teach Your Children. They did not play my favorite of theirs--Suite: Judy Blue Eyes--but it was still very enjoyable. I love them. :D

My parents also brought up trying to buy tickets for Ringo Starr in July for Artown. We're not sure if they're sold out, but if they're still available, I'd totally go see him. Though what's sad is that apparently Artown is no longer doing the Rocky Horror Picture Show. *sigh* That was always fun. I miss it.

This afternoon I spent four hours doing math homework. I even found myself wishing the problems involved more math and less explaining the math which is just...omgwtfbbq! One of the reasons I like stats more than other kinds of math is because half of it is writing and explaining. But then, the practice problems in my book keep requiring us to explain what we did as if to a person who has never taken a course in statistics, which half the time includes explanations of everything from mean and standard deviation to independent means t-tests. Very long, very tedious explanations, required on multiple problems, when even the back of the book just types it all out once and then refers us to that explanation whenever it pops up in another problem. The math is actually more interesting than explaining what it means, which is...rather new to me. :p

So, this weekend:

--I am going to a Crosby, Stills, and Nash concert. With my parents. *sporfles* I'm twenty years old, and now is the very first concert I ever go to, and it's for Crosby, Stills, and Nash, with my parents. I've never gone through the "don't want to be seen with my parents" stage, and I don't feel embarrassed at going to a concert with them, but I find it amusing. I am definitely looking forward to it, though, since I love their music. I do prefer Neil Young with them, but I like them just fine on their own.

--My best friend is going to Spain for six weeks. I'm excited for her sake, and I want her to have a brilliant time, but I'm going to miss her. I don't...have that many RL friends. Well, at least she'll be back before I go back to UPS in the fall.

--New Doctor Who tomorrow! (Of course.) I have been anticipating this like you...well, you probably would believe. :p Lots of nerves and anticipation and glee and so on. OMG I want this episode right now! *bounces*

That's it for this weekend, but also, at the end of the year, my grandparents have invited my family to go to Chile with them. I'm still debating it, but right now I'm leaning towards yes. Totally new country, on a continent I've never been to! There are other considerations, which is why I'm still thinking, but I might well end up going. :D

Started getting Doctor Who S2 from Netflix today. Yay! I really like New Earth. I liked The Christmas Invasion well enough, but not as much as New Earth. Billie Piper was amazing, alternating between Rose and Cassandra. David Tennant was good too, but I thought Billie really stood out in that.

Also, I watched the outtakes and deleted scenes. And the outtakes, with the Cybermen in the park, and K-9? OMGSQUEESOCUTE. Ahahahaha. I love the way the first Cyberman just runs around the park, and then the next two play in the playground, and spin K-9 around the merry-go-round...eee. So adorable.

Random thoughts on NE, with a bit of TCI, and some picspam )

Spoilers for LotTL )

And finally... )

Also, I love the Doomsday music. It's so sad, but so beautiful! I've been listening to the DW soundtrack on repeat for the past few days, and I just love it. There are still some tracks I can't recognize immediately, but that one I learned pretty quickly.

I signed up for [livejournal.com profile] yuletide. It's my first year doing this fest, but I'm really looking forward to it. I need to get back into my writing groove.

A couple nights ago [livejournal.com profile] velesia and I watched "The Last Unicorn". *happy sigh* I've always loved that movie. But now I want the soundtrack, except I couldn't find it on iTunes. Don't suppose anyone else has it?
