New Doctor Who today!


I don't have as many thoughts about this one as I did the previous two. Donna continues to be wonderful, and I was very pleased with finding out more about the Ood.

Three things I especially liked:
--The Doctor being alien! I loved how he could hear the song, and helped Donna hear it too.
--The song in general. I thought it was a lovely idea.
--Ood Sigma had everything under control. The Doctor and Donna helped, but they weren't actually necessary to free the Ood. Everything wasn't up to the Doctor, and I'm not sure if that occurred to him yet, but if it does, I hope it helps.

I also liked the reference to The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit. I was hoping for a Rose mention, though I suppose the audience already knows that those events happened with Rose. Donna reminded me very much of Rose in her reaction to the Ood--appalled at the slave thing, trying to connect with them. No, the Doctor hadn't noticed they were slaves, but Rose noticed it for him, even if events rather spiralled beyond their control.

More foreshadowing! The Doctor's song will end soon? I am nervous, and I want to know what it means.

In other news, remixredux08 is open!

I got two fics! Two! Both of them were posted before the deadline, so I'm not sure how that happened, but I'm totally not complaining because both were OMGSOBRILLIANT. Eeee! Fics like that are exactly the reason I keep signing up for this ficathon. I'm so happy with them. :D

The Repercussions of Having Bad Hygiene (Go Further Than You Think Remix). Harry Potter, Snape and others. The original story was something I wrote back in 2003, so years ago, and totally not one of my best stories, but this remix ended up so great. It went so much more in depth than my fic, and everything means so much more, and it's totally amazing. Just...wonderful. :D

Om Mani Padmé Hum (The No Loss of Will Remix). Star Wars, with Padme, Obi-Wan, Luke, and Leia. It's a remix of part iv of my "Five Things That Never Happened to Luke Skywalker", and it's SO BRILLIANT. I am in love with it. It also goes more in depth, and means so much, and...*flails* Just read it. It's perfect.

I am also pretty sure I know who wrote the Star Wars fic. *g* I can't wait for the reveal, to see if I'm right.

I love this ficathon SO MUCH. Now I'm off to read more! :D

I don't have as many thoughts either, but gad, I LOVED the Doctor letting Donna hear the song. I want to see more of his slightly-psychic stuff. Seriously.

As for the episode itself? Meh. There were cool bits, but I'm already looking ahead to the next one. Yay Martha! Will she be awesome now that she's not OMGCRUSHING anymore?
