...I actually have a lot I want to say, but this is just a quick post before I go back to reading fic. :p

So, this Wednesday, my little sister is leaving for a nine-month trip abroad, to Tanzania, Thailand, and Australia, but she has to leave from San Francisco, which is about four hours away. My parents and I are taking her there, then spending some more time in the city before coming home. But it's been awhile since I've been to San Francisco, so can anyone recommend something fun to do that won't take longer than, say, half a day?

More details on other things, including Sister's trip, later. I just wanted to get this out before Wednesday.

I can't help with the San Francisco stuff, but if your sister needs any ideas or info on Australia, let me know.

So many cool museums! I really like MOMA and the DeYoung. There's also always Fisherman's Wharf.

Fisherman's Wharf and Japantown are good for half a day things. Though Japantown is mostly if you want to go to Kinokuniya ^^'

Wow, sounds like she's off on an amazing trip!

Couldn't help you with the San Francisco stuff, but am envious of you getting even a few hours there, as I've never been.

Hi, I'm a stranger. Found your journal through FictionAlley's R/S thread. Anyway, I live quite close to San Francisco so I have a few suggestions. So...there's Chinatown, and the DeYoung Museum (I don't know if you're into art or what, but the architecture's pretty cool and so's the tower), and Coit Tower, and the Legion of Honor Museum, and the Metreon (I have not seen the Da Vinci exhibit that's there now, though I saw the Titanic one and liked it)... and Alcatraz! That might take up your half day by itself. Oh, and if you like hot chocolate, might I suggest the Bittersweet Cafe? Just as a possibility... It has lots of desserts and chocolates and amazing hot chocolate.

Okay, I am a bit overenthusiastic about this and have listed way more than you can do in half a day, but I hope you find something you like and have a great time! :)
