I always love a good crossover, but it's rare that I find a really good crossover. And I just finished one that's...really damn good. Good enough that I just have to make a post reccing it.

Browncoat, Green Eyes by nonjon is really one of the best crossovers I've ever read. Dunno if the title gives it away, but it's Harry Potter/Firefly, taking place two years post-Serenity, and written post-OotP. Ships include Simon/Kaylee, past Harry/Luna, and UST with Harry/River and Mal/Inara, and as a warning, Harry is pretty powerful--I know some people don't like that. The story's also almost 300,000 words, so it's pretty epic, and it's posted on ff.net, so I don't know how many people might have read it, since I know a lot of people avoid that site. It's also complete, so no worries about WIPs.

I've read some HP/Firefly crossovers before, but I've never seen one that fits these two universes together so well. What, exactly, fits them together is part of the plot, so I won't give it away, but really, it's just...wow. Awesome. Characterization is great, with lines I thought were rather Whedonesque, and though Harry is different from canon, he's got reason, and it makes sense within the story. There's several original characters, and they're really, really well done. And the plot is just...eeee! Awesome, awesome plot. It's funny, and poignant, and everything I look for in an epic. Just...really. Wonderful, and definitely worth a read for fans of Harry Potter, Firefly, and long stories.

People make the strangest websites.

I wish my books would stop disappearing. I mean, just because I have too many for them all to fit in my bookshelves doesn't mean that I shouldn't be able to find the one book I want to read. *sigh* (The last time I made an actual effort to count my books, I had somewhere around 600, but this was several years ago, and I don't know how many I've bought since then.)

Work is...work. There are, thankfully, no early morning shifts, but I hate closing. (Surprise, surprise.) But over the past three days, I've made over $70 in tips, so that's cool.

Writing fic again (KH, SW, and Narnia right now), which is good, but none of it will be ready soon, I don't think.

Saw more Firefly! A couple nights ago, watched Shindig and Safe, and last night, watched Our Mrs. Reynolds and Jaynestown with Twin. Such a good show! "Dear diary, today I was pompous and my sister was crazy"--dude, Jayne, you win. And I still love Mal and Kaylee, and I think I am becoming fond of Mal/Kaylee, as well as Mal/Inara and Kaylee/Simon.

Once I finish watching this show, there is so going to be fic for it.

firefly!

Car tomorrow. Not today, alas, but tomorrow is pretty good. I'm so tired of having to wait until someone is here to have a car, especially as everyone else has a job,

Anyway. Saw the first three episodes of Firefly. Such a good show! I like all the characters, even Jayne, though I'm not usually fond of people who act like utter bastards. :p But I can't wait until I see the rest of the show. There might even eventually be fic. *g*

Speaking of fic...I've got some older stuff I need to post here, so I can have 'em tagged if nothing else. My Kenshin fic for [livejournal.com profile] unexpected_task, and then some KH drabbles and a ficlet. Will do that later though, as am quite tired now. Have not had any caffiene all day. :p
