Hah. I say I'm going to update more often, and then I go for three weeks without posting anything. :p It's not even like I didn't have anything to say.

For instance, tomorrow I'm leaving on a trip to visit Twin, who's at school in Arizona. I'm driving down there, spending the night in Vegas with a friend who's currently living there, then getting in to Flagstaff Friday afternoon. I'll leave on Monday, stay the night with my friend again, and then get home on Tuesday.

Twin is going to take me to the Grand Canyon. Eee! I've never been there. And I've heard Sedona is interesting, so we're gonna go there too. Along with some other stuff.

Am very excited!

In other news, Happy Halloween. :p

My little sister is graduating in about twelve hours. My little sister. Graduating. From high school.

Duuuude.

This is, somehow, much weirder than her eighteenth birthday, though that was weird enough. But graduation has apparently reduced me to sentence fragments, so that's probably some sort of comment on the weirdness quotient.

Never mind that she's 6'1, she's my little sister. But in twelve hours she's going to graduate, and in five months she's going to go to Africa to work in AIDS clinics. When the hell did she grow up? I think she's more adult than I am, sigh.

My little sister is an awesome, awesome person, and I will always wish the best for her. I'm just going to get nostalgic as hell now. :p

Does anyone know when Croatoan is going to be released on iTunes? I've got the first eight episodes of Supernatural S2, and I've got Hunted on TiVo, but I do prefer watching episodes in order. But failing my ability to watch Croatoan soon, do I need to have seen it in order to get everything in Hunted? It's just that I've been reading the flist squee about it, and now I really wanna watch it.

In other news, I got my leave of absence, and on Sunday my dad and I are going up to move me out and bring my car back down. And Twin left yesterday to go back to her school. Sigh. Figures that she finishes her leave of absence just as I start mine. I will miss her, but at least I won't have to miss the rest of my family at the same time.

My family is watching Fiddler on the Roof. I wonder if I'm the only one who finds that interesting, considering it's Christmas (which my family does indeed celebrate).

My family also opens presents on Christmas Eve, so I got this all last night, but I am now the proud owner of Thud! (and have already finished it. Sam Vimes, I love you. And Young Sam), Straken (Terry Brooks, for those who don't know), Star Wars I-III, none of which I've seen since they were in theaters (and maybe seeing those again will inspire me to write something set in there--I really want to write Obi-Wan, but don't have that much inspiration as of yet...), two $50 B&N gift cards (!!!), new wallet, new purse, new clothes, and Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap. Also, my own teapot, teacup, and tea that I can take back to college.

I also received Troubles and Trees for [livejournal.com profile] shackinup_sesa, which is yay! Good fic. :)

I'm not allowed to tell anyone which one my own sesa fic was, but last night I posted another naughty R/S Christmas carol, as well as the next chapter of "Feet on the Ground".

I also updated my website with all my perverted filks (including the two I wrote with [livejournal.com profile] allisonblair--you know, we totally need to write more of those) and that chapter two.

In the past couple days, I got cards from [livejournal.com profile] louve_mae, [livejournal.com profile] _immortalis, and [livejournal.com profile] thistlerose. :D *loves you all* I haven't managed to even buy my cards yet, so you're going to be getting January Cards. Hopefully I'll be able to go buy them within the next several days, but the mall is probably still going to be packed...

Chanukah started tonight, didn't it? So Happy Chanukah to those who celebrate that, Merry Christmas to those who celebrate that, and just happy holidays to everyone. :D

OMG AM HOME FOR A MONTH NOW!

Also, my parents are awesome. Two different conversations:

(In the airport, waiting for my bags to come)
MOM: I want to go see movies soon. Are there any you want to see?
ME: Narnia!
MOM: I want to see that too!
ME: Oh, and Memoirs of a Geisha!
MOM: Me too! I love that book.
ME: I also want to see Brokeback Mountain.
MOM: So do I. I've heard good things about it.

So sometime soon, I will be seeing, among other things, a movie about gay cowboys with my mother. :D

(After dinner)
ME: *comes out to the living room, with my computer power cord that has the fraying protective coating* I think I need to get a new power cord.
MOM: Why don't we just get you a new laptop?
ME: Um, mine still works fine, even if it's a bit slow...
DAD: Well, it is four or five years old now. We can get you a new one.
MOM: Think about it.

So...I'm thinking about it. :p Do any of you have any particular recommendations for laptop models? I don't think I need anything in particular for college, save one that does the usual computer stuff like write documents, print, and go on the internet. *g*

I still feel a bit bemused that my parents had to convince me to let them buy me a new laptop--this isn't the first conversation we've had about it, 'cause my twin got a new one for graduation, and my parents offered to get me one then too.

Though still, my computer does work just fine, even if I should probably get a new power cord...

Anyway, am finally home again with all my 600+ books, as opposed to the fifty or so I had up there, and I'm pretty tired, so I'm going to read and go to bed (relatively) early. :)

am home

Happy Thanksgiving, to those who celebrate it. :)

And wow, I'm home. And except for random odd things, like I forgot how high my shower level needs to be pulled to get the temperature I like, and that my room is actually clean, it's like I never left. I was expecting to feel strange when I got home from the airport yesterday, after being gone for three months, except I didn't.

Other random odd thing that has nothing to do with being home except that I saw it: Twin is growing dreadlocks. o.O I'm not quite sure why.

Anyway, now that I am home...I will be going to visit family for Thanksgiving, so won't be back until late Friday. See you later.
