I am, indeed, back
Jul. 24th, 2004 02:55 pmSkip=520 OMFG you people are insane.
I was gone four days. Four days. And then I come back to roughly 150 (!) new email messages and then I check the flist and have to go back 520 entries to get to something I've read before I left. And my flist isn't even that big!
You = VERY PROLIFIC.
Anyway, time for random things about my trip.
I finished The Truth.
ariastar,
polaris_starz...I did indeed see the slashiness of William/Otto. But I also saw William/Sacharissa, which I presume was meant to be there, even if the William/Otto wasn't (and OTTO! *dies* I LOVE him!). And I liked it. Not as much as the Watch books (meaning I would probably have liked it more had there been more Vimes and Carrot *g*), but it was a good book. Now to find the rest of the Discworld books. Maybe I should continue with the Rincewind ones...
And!
prettyveela will be happy with me, I think. I'm almost done writing her Snape/Lily. And I would be done, except that I was writing it in the airport, and my laptop was running on battery, and suddenly went from 80% to 8%, so I had to shut down before I lost stuff. But it will be finished, and SOON!
Speaking of airports, I hate them muchly. And the airport in Denver wouldn't have been that bad except that it was RAINING A LOT, so much that there were all these flash flood warnings, and my flight was delayed about an hour and a half. So instead of getting home at about 10:30, I got home at midnight, and I was tired, so I didn't even unpack my computer before going to bed. That proves how tired I was, because Rynne/computer (internet!) = OTP.
Things That Happened In Colorado:
RAIN.
Seriously. It rained every day that we were there. We stayed in this place in the Rockies called Breckenridge, and if there was no rain for an hour at a time, it was like WHOA. It was even worse in Denver--when we flew in on Tuesday, we went to Six Flags (where I played DDR for the first time in MONTHS and I am so out of practice >.<) and it rained so we couldn't go on the good roller coasters until the rain died down. And yesterday, when we came back into Denver in order to fly out, there was OMG SO MUCH RAIN and it delayed my flight, bah.
Ironically enough, it just rained here. And from reading the flist, I think it is raining everywhere (well, in America at least). But I am not complaining. Nevada has far too little rain for me to complain, and I loved it even when it was pouring in Colorado. Nope, deserts are definitely not the place for me to live.
Erm. No more tangents. (But can you blame me, I had no LJ for four days...) Colorado.
WE WENT WHITEWATER RAFTING!
Whitewater rafting is teh fun. Didn't fall out this time, though. Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. When we went on the Truckee a couple years ago, I fell out during one of the rapids, and it was FUN. But this time I got wet enough anyway without falling out, so oh well. But yes. I love whitewater rafting.
Other things that happened in Colorado...um. I thought about the internet a lot. Think that's about it.
Anyway. Just figures that in the four days that I am gone,
shoebox_project is updated,
copperbadge wrote R/S roadtrip!fic and updated Laocoon's Children,
anniesj finished the tiepr0n, and all these people start going off on the whole underage readers thing, which I have so many views on and questions about, and you know, I think I'm going to start a poll about this...
Hmm. More things have happened, haven't they? But I only skimmed the flist because SKIP=520!! so if I missed something important, just tell me.
Now to revise the
crossgenathon fic and post it. Then finish the Snape/Lily, get it betad, and make
prettyveela happy.

Date: 2004-07-24 04:34 pm (UTC)Also, yay for seeing the William/Otto! And I concede that yes, the William/Sacharissa was supposed to exist, but if they have any chemistry, I really didn't see it.
(Actually, I feel just the slightest bit guilty about shipping William/Otto, because usually I'm fairly canon-adherent, and both Aziraphale/Crowley and Remus/Sirius have oodles of canon evidence and nothing to really contradict them. Whereas here we've got this Sacharissa problem. I can still argue William/Otto with some amount of logic, but I'm definitely not going to be pretentious and claim it canon.
Still writing lots and lots of it right now, anyway. ^^)

Date: 2004-07-26 10:42 pm (UTC)Whitewater rafting is so teh fun! When we went in Colorado, it was way too cold to do anything cool like jumping off of a rock into the water, but it was still ridiculously fun. And my mom almost fell out, which is a plus. XD
