First of all, this is bloody hilarious. Lego!Remus and Lego!Sirius have Lego!sex while a Lego!Dementor pervs. It's only rated R, as...it's Legos, but really. Go read. Hilarious.

Also, *cough*. My [livejournal.com profile] pervy_werewolf fic yesterday was more het. Remus/Hermione, and one which I've been planning pretty much since this challenge started and only got around to writing last night. Maybe once I get rid of the NC17 bits, I'll put it up at FA. (Note to self--remember to do that for the long Remus/Harry one too. And expand a bit on other stuff. I like that fic.)

I am...rather amazed that I've kept at this challenge for so long. It ends in two days, and I'm pretty much free both those days, which means that I'll really be able to finish this challenge. That rather amazes me. Before May started, I'd written like, four NC17 things or something, and all of them were Remus/Sirius. Now I've written twenty-nine this month alone so far, most of which were not R/S. I don't think I'll be able to go back to writing nearly only R/S after this (not that that's a bad thing, exactly :p).

Yesterday I had the strongest urge to go play FFIX again, but my friend is apparently still borrowing my first disc, grr, so I can't start a new game and maybe try to get Excalibur II this time (getting all the way to nearly the end of disc four--the last disc--in under twelve hours is hard! Especially when doing that normally takes me over thirty hours, though I do tend to obsessively level up and get everything possible). Must ask her about that next time I see her. Maybe I can just start a new game in VI, VII, VIII, X, or X-2, or maybe I should finish my games in IV and V, but gah, I wanna play IX. It's my favorite. And I don't have any saves on disc two or three, so I've just been doing things on one of my disc four saves--my perfect game is gathering dust, really. Well, almost perfect, as I don't have all the cards (or Excalibur II, but it's impossible to get Excalibur II and have an otherwise perfect game), but really, what else can you do besides beat the final boss when you've already levelled up all the characters as high as they can go, have all the best weapons and armor and accessories, know every single ability, have beaten all the hidden bosses, etc.? Boring. And I really wanna play Chocobo Hot and Cold...

...Enough video game babble, especially as most of you don't know what the hell I'm talking about :p.

Am debating joining the classic canon challenge. The Count of Monte Cristo, because damn, wouldn't Sirius make the best Edmond Dantes ever? With Voldemort as Napoleon and Crouch Sr as Monsieur de Villefort and Remus as Haydee definitely, and with either James or Peter as Fernand de Morcerf (if James, then Lily can be Mercedes and Harry can be Albert, but damn, Peter fits Fernand far more than James does, but if I made Peter him, then I'd have to find Peter a wife and a son...), and maybe Dumbledore as Abbe Faria...I'd have to think up the full cast of characters. And read the book again, as it's been two years since I've read it. Er. Assuming I have time to do this. It's very possible that I will not. *cough* Be fun, though. And I know we don't have to do the whole book, but it really would be fun...

I started The Count of Monte Cristo two months ago and never got around to finishing. The fact that I have an abridged version doesn't make me too happy either. I like the original version, thank you very much. Then again, seeing as I'm half-way through the abridged and already damn confused, I might very well just stick with it.

I think it'd make for an interesting idea. It's a pretty good book after all. And I definitely think James should be Fernand. You're right about Peter being more of Fernand's personality, but the character connections fit James more. Of course, that does imply there was once Lily/Sirius, which I'm not really a big fan of (Remus/Lily I'm all for though), but I would definitely look forward to this if you ever got around to writing it.

Count of Monte Cristo and the abridged version is sorta like Les Miserables and the abridged version, for me. There's just so much going on that you have to read the whole thing to understand everything (never mind that the unabridged versions of both books are flippin' huge).

I was leaning more towards James as Fernand anyway, though I really wouldn't like making him betray Sirius and have Lily really be in love with Sirius rather than James (I'm no more a fan of Lily/Sirius than you are), but it does mean that I could use canon characters rather than making up my own, and Harry already seems rather Albert-like *g*. I don't know if I will end up doing this--it'd be fun, but I have so many responsibilities...

Just a thought. This is going to be so off from canon, but what if you switched James and Sirius?

Now that I think about it, it sounds ridiculous, but here goes. James could be laboring under the assumption that Sirius sold him out. It doesn't really seem like his personality, but if you add in the right motive, it might work.

The only other major problem I can see thus far is, it would definitely be Lily/Sirius, and there would be an unrequited love between Lily/James, but the authenticity of the feelings would be right.

@_@ Ok, that sounded like an utterly stupid idea. You may say so.

I'm thinking of finding myself a cheap copy of the complete version. Half Price totally rocks. It's probably longer, but from what you said, I think I might understand it better?

Well, the whole point of making James Fernand is that he has a wife and a son in canon so I wouldn't have to go to the trouble of making some up. So the same problem would exist with Sirius that exists with Peter. Plus, James wasn't wrongfully imprisoned in Azkaban (Chateau D'If), and Sirius was, making him the best person possible for Edmond. And the authenticity of the feelings could still work out, I think--James definitely wants Lily, a lot, much like Fernand wants Mercedes. The James we know wouldn't get his best friend in prison for fourteen years, so if I do this, I'd really have to make a big deal of James's love for Lily and all that.

Re: getting a copy of the complete version. One word: library. *g* You'll still have to wade through about the same language as in the abridged version (I read the abridged version my freshman year of high school), and there'll be more of it, but I understood the complete version better.

Yeah, Sirius is the best person for Edmond. I was just thinking that if you had some other motive for James to get at Sirius (other than Mercerdes loving Edmond), then it could possibly work out, but the idea was twisted to begin with.

The only problem with me borrowing the book from the library is that I wouldn't be able to finish it fast enough. With all the summer reading I have to do for school, I doubt I'd find the time, especially since I'll be reading those slowly...boring books. >.< But I'm going to have to read it someday; it's on my to-do list.
