Last week of class -- tomorrow's the final -- and last week of work. I'm not sad about class since while I've learned a lot, the course was easy and rather boring, but I will miss my job.

Still having trouble with betas for my Big Bang. Back in June I posted a request on kirkspock, but only got one response -- someone with a new journal. Still, optimistically, I sent the fic off. I asked the person to get it back by early August at the latest. Emailed them last week.

Yeah. Nothing.

This fic is 77,000 words long, and I do not want to leave it as it is. I think I'm going to try posting another request at kirkspock, but if that doesn't work, I just...I don't know.

Christ on a cracker. I love this fic and want it to be the best it can possibly be, but it seems more and more like I'll have to settle for how it is now. I don't think it's bad or hugely flawed, but I do think there are things that can make it better that I'm just too close to see.

*sigh*

A beta post just went up over at kirkspock. It might be helpful. I can give your story a look for continuity and common errors. I'm just not good at the advanced stuff and comma's hate me. =)

I really appreciate your offer, especially after you keep saying it's not your strength. I might went end up taking you up on that, though do you mind if I wait until I see if there's someone more comfortable with it? :)

yeah, my path to Big Bang is rather rocky either. I've been through all of the above (actually, kind of twice) and it's been really frustrating. I wish I could help you, but I'm not a native speaker and I'm also totally cooped up with editing my fic. I could probably read yours and give you feedback about the plot if you want, though.
