I'm now in Nice. This is a beautiful area, but of course I was expecting that. And apparently years of Spanish and one of French are doing me in good stead because I'm understanding more than I expected. Just of written stuff mostly, but any comprehension is a relief.

My agenda for the next two days: go to the beach. I'm sure there are other things to do in Nice, but I don't really care. I'm here to go to the beach and lie in the sun and maybe swim in the Mediterranean a bit and otherwise do nothing. I even did grocery shopping tonight so I can pack myself lunches and stay all day.

Oh yeah. This is gonna be awesome.

Hee, Nice! I'm soooo jealous. And you're totally right, Nice is for the beach (well, and maybe for walking around a little? I know Cassis is absolutely lovely to walk around with lots of flowers and trees, so I'm guessing Nice is probably the same).

PS: Hoping you'll read this before tomorrow afternoon -- would you be tempted by a picnic at the Buttes Chaumont? (don't worry, I don't intend to follow you around all week-end long unless you actually want me to! :)) And if so, what kind of picnic food do you like? And while I'm at it, is there anything in particular that you like eating at breakfast (or will you be wanting croissants?), and anything in particular that you're allergic to?

I actually ended up going to Monaco today and not the beach, and that was gorgeous and also nice to walk around in, but tomorrow is definitely devoted to the beach.

Also, a picnic sounds awesome! I like fruit (especially berries), lunch meat (especially salami), crackers or rolls, cheese (especially yellow cheddar), but I'm not really that picky. I don't eat big breakfasts, usually just a croissant and some fruit or cereal or yogurt or something. I am also allergic to nothing.

Thank you so much! I'm really looking forward to getting to Paris! :D

Oh, and I got your email about phone numbers. Mine is +4407531847220, but it hasn't been working in Europe so far. I'll keep your numbers just in case but hopefully you won't be needing to call me.
