The last disc of season one of House is coming tomorrow. I've got season two saved, but it's apparently not available to rent from Netflix yet. I've already seen Firefly.

Any suggestions on what to rent next? Assume that, apart from the abovementioned shows, I am a blank slate in terms of TV. :p

Have you tried Veronica Mars? It's really good! Also, Smallville and Buffy the Vampire Slayer are awesome.

Have you tried Slings and Arrows? It's a Canadian mini-series about the back stage scene at a Shakespearian festival. Funny, dramatic, amazingly well-acted.

Home Movies is a wonderful, animated series from Adult Swim. Intelligent, funny, witty.

And Animaniacs and Pinky & the Brain are coming out in a week and half.

(By the way, have you read Naomi Novik's His Majesty's Dragon? Well-written page-turning joy.)

I'm currently watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer - it's good but getting through 7 seasons takes a loooong time.

My personal recommendation - LOST. But you might run into the same problem you're having with House in terms of the second season.

Yeah Season two of House isn't out until August 22. LOST is a good way to go, or if you're on a medical drama kick, Grey's Anatomy is very well-written. But with both of those you've got the same problem: only one season on DVD so far, the second won't be out for several weeks.
