So, I commissioned a R/S picture from [livejournal.com profile] ponderosa121 for a LJ layout awhile ago.

It's finished, and BOY is it GORGEOUS! But then, it's Pond. Gorgeous is like, a given. *pours love on Pond*

But the thing is...I've got absolutely no idea how to make this wonderful picture into a layout. And I want to, a lot, because it's perfect.

So. Er. Help? Please?

You lucky thing you! Wish I could help, but I'm techno-illiterate. Still, you are one lucky luck! ^~

Question. Would you mind if I wrote a fic for the piece, or was this based off one of your own? (I can't recall it in any I've read, but if it's an up and coming, well then, you know...duh. Xp )

Well, I've got a fic in mind from having seen it, but nothing more than that. You're welcome to write one as well, if you like. :)

Thanks. I'll write that up as soon as I feel it won't be craptastic. (I've been off for a week or so.) *sigh*

Well... the easiest thing I can think of to do is to use it as a full-size background and to use generator on the left-hand side, made the background of generator either completely transparent (or slightly transparent)... though I know that some browsers have issues when you use transparency... and work from there.

Just a thought! (if I think of anything else, I'll let you know) And yes, the picture is GORGEOUS!

That might work...if I knew how to make something transparent, and if I knew how to get the pic on the background in the first place.

Basic html is pretty much the extent of my computer-literacy.

I should SO be doing my acoustics right now. >>

Here: http://www.livejournal.com/tools/memories.bml?user=howto

That's the LJ tutorial guide on just about anything you'd need for overrides and whatnot. It has how to make generator transparent and how to get pics as backgrounds (though, I think you'll need to resize the pic to get it full-sized for a monitor. I have a link somewhere that says how big a pic has to be for each monitor size as, even if your resolution is 1078x840 (or whatever it is as I'm blanking off the top of my head), you don't have to make it that size in the browser window... if that makes sense).

I hope that helps, and if you need to poke me tomorrow (as I really need to keep working on acoustics) for any help, I'd be MORE than happy to help!

You can do something like what I have on my LJ, but you need a paid account...?

I've got a paid account, though I don't know what you've got on your LJ...(I mean, how to do it)
