So, I saw John Kerry today. I was sitting like less than a hundred feet away, and I had this big "Women for Kerry" sign. :D

Kerry looks better in person than he does on TV. :p

Two things I really liked: Kerry pronounced Nevada correctly, and I didn't have to sign a loyalty oath to get inside--Kerry's up on Bush just for those.

I also just really liked what he said. God, I wish I was a year older so I could vote for this guy.

I'm feeling somewhat better today, which could easily be due to sleeping in til eleven--five more hours than usual, yeah!

Though I dunno. I'm tired despite that, which might just be because I'm still sick, or might be because I just tried writing something and it's harder than I want it to be. It seems like it's been so long since I've written something and I hate the feeling, like I'm not contributing something. And God I feel guilty when I think of all the birthday drabbles I've yet to do, but I open that page and the reply to someone's request, and then I just end up staring at the screen, or starting a drabble and deleting all of it because it doesn't fit or I can't finish it. Gah.

The inside of my head just feels fuzzy sometimes. I probably need to stop thinking so much.

Glad to hear you're feeling better! ^_^ Hope you'll be completely cured tomorrow.

Bush made you sign loyalty oaths? o.O;; What are those?

And how was Kerry? Great speaker? Appealing? Yes, no?

Well, Bush didn't make me personally sign a loyalty oath (which is just basically saying you're loyal to the US), as I wasn't here when he came, but others who did go told me that they had to.

Well, I thought Kerry was a good speaker, at least :D. And I think his plans are appealing--I probably wouldn't be a Democrat if I didn't. From hearing him speak, and get all enthusiastic about what he was saying...I think he'd make a good President.

What is the correct pronunciation of Nevada? Just making sure I've not been saying it wrong all this time (being a foreigner and all). ;)

Short e and two short a sounds. "Ne" as in "hen", "vad" as in "hat", "a" as in "hah". Most people pronounce it the Spanish way, which, while correct for the Spanish word nevada, is incorrect for the American name Nevada. *g*

Okay, then I've saying it correctly. I have heard both and never knew which was right.

I remember when I had the incredible opportunity to see Al Gore and Joseph Lieberman in St Louis in August 2000. What a fantastic experience for a non-American person! That's right up in the list of things I'll never forget.

Small comfort, but I will think of you -- and the other intelligent and informed -- women for Kerry who are too young to cast their own ballot when I do my own. :)
