So, my dad and I spent roughly forty-five minutes on the phone with SBC Tech Support, figuring out what the hell my computer has against accessing dial-up in Santa Cruz, and now I am online. <33 Last night and earlier today when I tried to go on and couldn't, I was about resigned to not having the internet for...nine days, but yay for Tech Support!

Anyway, I'm in Santa Cruz now, and it's been...foggy. And actually a bit colder than Reno, though that doesn't matter because it's Santa Cruz and I have the beach right below my balcony and can fall asleep at night listening to the waves crash, and so I am happy.

And I have a fic rec (almost when insane yesterday, when I thought I couldn't read fics for a week *g*). Sticky by Kitty Levina, and the kind of thing that reminds me why I still do go to ff.net sometimes (well, to the Harry Potter section. I go to the video game/anime sections as well, because those have surprisingly less crap--or at least the video game section does). In Grimmauld Place, Sirius uses sticky notes to remind himself of memories.

I have also resolved to write the next chapter of Only Time sometime this week. Maybe even finish it, because there's not that many chapters left, and I know precisely what's happening in each one after nineteen (it's just nineteen that's refusing to be anything but a crappy boring chapter :p). But it would be nice symmetry, if I could finish it here. I started it here, after all. I love Santa Cruz.

Though, sigh, another thing I have to finish soon is my summer reading. I've been putting it off and putting it off--everyone tells me that Crime and Punishment and Catch-22 are hard going, and I prefer reading light fantasy--but I should probably stop procrastinating. Bother.

Will also probably end up going to that craft store I found a year or two ago, to get material to make a Footpad with. And then I'm sure I'll come down with [livejournal.com profile] terredancer's YAS and buy lots of yarn to crochet with...*g*

Also, happy birthday, [livejournal.com profile] losselen! :D

Good night, everyone. Yay for Santa Cruz!

Thank you!

Yay for Santa Cruz too. We always spend the night there when driving up to Berkley or SanFran. Very laid back.

Crime and Punishment

You know, I never really found a liking for that book, although not enough to deter anyone else away from it, since I knew that it was entirely a matter of my own taste.

I go to the video game/anime sections as well, because those have surprisingly less crap--or at least the video game section does

Except those awful script things intended to be funny, but have no actual basis because the plot is entirely random. But I have no idea where else to turn for in need of yaoi other than fanfiction.net. While the classics are always welcome, there should be a systematic filter for quality FF fanfiction. Unless there is already one; in that case, I feel silly and I want a link to it.

YAY for Santa Cruz! You should go see Riding Giants at the Del Mar. No better place to see it than here!
