rynne: (scully the sleeping beauty)
Okay. Packing is mostly complete, except for stuff I can't do until tomorrow. Well, and the phone I bought off a friend who did this program last year. I have no idea where I put it, and I'm tired of looking for it. I'll try again before I go to bed, but it was a pay-as-you-go phone so if I have to I can just find another when I get there.

I'm very tired right now. I should probably go to bed, but I'm not sure when I'll next have internet access.

Mmmm. Oh well. Good night.
rynne: (guitar talk)
This is the first time I've posted on a Wednesday all month, and I still have nothing to say.

Anyone want to talk to me instead? I don't care what about. What's most on your mind right now?

ETA: Hah, I do have something to say! Apparently I have a better vocabulary than could be expected even at my school--which, while not Ivy League, is still quite prestigious. Last semester someone in my peer editing group for my creative writing class was thrown by my use of the word "mirth" in a story. And my Public Opinion professor (and this is a 300-level class) keeps defining words in our textbook for us. Words like "ken".

Am I...being completely unreasonable to think that upper-level college students should know words like "mirth" and "ken"? I keep having to fight down annoyance whenever my professor defines a word for us, or asks us to define one and there's silence before I either speak up or he goes on to define it himself. Am I odd in having the kind of vocabulary I do?
