Depths of obsession...
Aug. 5th, 2004 11:16 pmKnow what's absolutely pathetic? The depths of my Remus obsession.
So, lately I've been reading a lot of Legend of Zelda fanfic. And of course, reading fanfic gives me an incredible urge to play my favorite of the Zelda games, Ocarina of Time. And the main character, his name's generally Link, but you can really name him whatever the hell you want. The last time I started a new game was quite awhile ago, so long I don't quite remember when, but you can see what you named Link on the save files, and guess what I named him last time.
Yep. That's right. I named him Remus.
*facepalm*
Remus, Hero of Time. *snickers*
And the worst part is, I was tempted to name my new save file Remus too. ^__^;;; I named it Link instead (yes, I'm boring like that), but still. You're not supposed to be this much in love with a fictional character, especially one technically more than twice your age, are you?
*speculative look* I wonder if there are any HP/Zelda crossovers. It'd be pretty bizarre at the very least, but it could be interesting.
Heh. What's the most bizarre crossover you have ever seen?

Date: 2004-08-05 11:43 pm (UTC)I also like to second guess the Love Interest in RPGs, and name the main character Sirius or Remus, and then the Love Interest the name I didn't use for the hero. I don't care if the Love Interest is female. =X That way, when a speech box opens up with something like; "Sirius: I love you, Remus," I can grin like an idiot.

Date: 2004-08-05 11:52 pm (UTC)The Love Interest usually is :p. But the only RPG I've played where the main characters out and out say "I love you" is Final Fantasy X, but I can't do it with that because I'm only allowed to name the male main character, not any of the others. But will have to do that sometime for some of my other RPGs...

Date: 2004-08-06 12:11 am (UTC)Well, the hero has red spiky hair, and he's the main character. His default name is Crono. :p The Love Interest is a blond chick, and I think her name is Marle.

Date: 2004-08-06 12:29 am (UTC)I seriously cannot believe I actually found one (http://fanfiction.portkey.org/profile/277). That's a link to the author's profile, and here's for the fic itself (http://fanfiction.portkey.org/story/566).

Date: 2004-08-06 01:22 am (UTC)(By the way, have you seen the screen caps for the next game? And no, it's not that damned cell-shading, thank god).
Er, where might one find Zelda fics? *is very interested*
Oh, and I have a Harry on my game, it's so much fun.

Date: 2004-08-06 01:33 am (UTC)Screencaps! No, have not seen them--link? (And THANK GOD for no cell shading. >.< It made Link and everyone else look stupid. Which did not, of course, stop me from beating the game and getting absolutely everything possible XD. Even if all the pieces of heart and treasures were a bitch...)
The only place I know for Zelda fic is here at ff.net, but there's quite a lot of it, considering, and really, once you get out of HP and LotR, there's more goodfic than badfic.

Date: 2004-08-06 12:55 pm (UTC)I skimmed out of curiosity and it featured such things as Trinity teaching DADA (a very... physical combat oriented curriculum) and being, I think, Snape's sister.
Or something along those lines.

Date: 2004-08-09 09:25 am (UTC)Crossover frighten me as a general rule too, mostly because I never seem to know the show/book/movie the fandom is question is being crossed over with.
Wow, this is starting to sound like breeding.
I think the best crossover ever was that Simpsons episode wherein Mulder and Scully made a guest appearance. Have you ever seen it?
