Know what's absolutely pathetic? The depths of my Remus obsession.

So, lately I've been reading a lot of Legend of Zelda fanfic. And of course, reading fanfic gives me an incredible urge to play my favorite of the Zelda games, Ocarina of Time. And the main character, his name's generally Link, but you can really name him whatever the hell you want. The last time I started a new game was quite awhile ago, so long I don't quite remember when, but you can see what you named Link on the save files, and guess what I named him last time.

Yep. That's right. I named him Remus.

*facepalm*

Remus, Hero of Time. *snickers*

And the worst part is, I was tempted to name my new save file Remus too. ^__^;;; I named it Link instead (yes, I'm boring like that), but still. You're not supposed to be this much in love with a fictional character, especially one technically more than twice your age, are you?

*speculative look* I wonder if there are any HP/Zelda crossovers. It'd be pretty bizarre at the very least, but it could be interesting.

Heh. What's the most bizarre crossover you have ever seen?

Holy FUCK. How did that WORK? *mind boggles*

That's sad. But it's okay, because I'm pretty sad too. Hah. I have most of Remus' family history worked out in my head. *nods*

*g* I'm too obsessed with Remus himself to really think about his family history :p.

I do the same exact thing with all my games. They're either named Sirius or Remus. Even if I'm not naming a character, I name the saved games Sirius, Remus, Moony, or Padfoot.

I also like to second guess the Love Interest in RPGs, and name the main character Sirius or Remus, and then the Love Interest the name I didn't use for the hero. I don't care if the Love Interest is female. =X That way, when a speech box opens up with something like; "Sirius: I love you, Remus," I can grin like an idiot.

I never saw any MLP, so I don't know how that worked, but it had something to do with the bad guy from MLP (I think it was a witch?) summoning the armies of Mordor. I read it just because I was curious.

LMAO well I do have a bit of an excuse for it. I play him in a couple of RPGs so it's a good thing for me to know. As someone who's taken a lot of acting classes in the past, I've been taught for years that one of the keys to understanding a character is knowing where they come from.

Err..end lecture. Hah.

What I mostly do is mooch off [livejournal.com profile] thistlerose's planned family history for him--it's rather extensive and much better than anything I can come up with :p. Besides, her Remus is half-Scottish, which means he wears a kilt, and that's always a good thing *g*.

LMAO as brilliant as I'm sure it is, I'd feel like a slacker if I didn't come up with it myself.

Though half-Scottish Remus does tickle my fancy a lot. Hahaha.

The Love Interest usually is :p. But the only RPG I've played where the main characters out and out say "I love you" is Final Fantasy X, but I can't do it with that because I'm only allowed to name the male main character, not any of the others. But will have to do that sometime for some of my other RPGs...

I don't mind feeling like a slacker, especially as his family history has never come up in anything I've written yet. :p Plus, there's that the spread of half-Scottish Remus through the fandom is no bad thing...*g* *likes imagining Remus in a kilt*

Doesn't matter to me. Hah. I've spent far too much time with the Method being pounded in my brain.

Yes, there is no such thing as too much of Remus in a kilt. Hee.

I did it all the time in Chrono Trigger for the SNES... you can name all the characters in that. I don't remember if they outright said "I love you" in the game though, it's been a while since I played it.

Hee. My laziness in thinking up character histories is one of the reasons I don't write original things. XD

Hmm...I don't have a SNES, but I've got Chrono Trigger for PSX, though I've never played it. Should do that sometime, and name the characters. Which one's hero and which one's LI? XD

From: [identity profile] froda-baggins.livejournal.com
LMAO yeah...I dunno. My brain considers it a different thing, filling in a history for a character that already exists and creating a completely new character. Which I mean...with a character like Remus...yeah, there is a lot we don't know but there's a lot we can infer from what we DO know. I like that. ^_^

From: [identity profile] rynne.livejournal.com
*shrugs* They are different things, but I'm too lazy to do both of them XD. Either that or too busy. For now, at least. I'll probably eventually come up with my own family and history for Remus, but I have to have a story where it matters first :p.

Date: 2004-08-06 12:11 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] poufywerewolf.livejournal.com
Oh man, it's a really great game! I used to play it for hours, trying to get all the different endings. I don't think I ever did.

Well, the hero has red spiky hair, and he's the main character. His default name is Crono. :p The Love Interest is a blond chick, and I think her name is Marle.

LMAO I'm lazy about other things so I can be obsessive about what part of France Remus' father came from. ;)

I wonder if there are any HP/Zelda crossovers.

I seriously cannot believe I actually found one (http://fanfiction.portkey.org/profile/277). That's a link to the author's profile, and here's for the fic itself (http://fanfiction.portkey.org/story/566).

Holy fuck. *stares* I'm not gonna read it, as I don't much like H/Hr and that's what Portkey is, but damn. Batshit insane, yo.

OMG. Legend of Zelda love, yo.

(By the way, have you seen the screen caps for the next game? And no, it's not that damned cell-shading, thank god).

Er, where might one find Zelda fics? *is very interested*

Oh, and I have a Harry on my game, it's so much fun.

YAY FOR ZELDA! *loves you for loving it*

Screencaps! No, have not seen them--link? (And THANK GOD for no cell shading. >.< It made Link and everyone else look stupid. Which did not, of course, stop me from beating the game and getting absolutely everything possible XD. Even if all the pieces of heart and treasures were a bitch...)

The only place I know for Zelda fic is here at ff.net, but there's quite a lot of it, considering, and really, once you get out of HP and LotR, there's more goodfic than badfic.

I might even go and have a look at that. AND the crossovers (at least those referenceing Ocarina of Time. In case you're wondering, I've never actually played it, but my sister (the video game obsessive) has, and in my strangeness, I liked to watch it all. Yes, I actually watched people play games for the story. I admit to being strange.

The weirdest? Well, I'm a bit of a crossover buff, so I've seen a few. Either Crocodile Hunter/HP or Queer Eye/HP seem to be the strangest of the top of my head.

There was a Matrix/HP crossover floating around FA, you may have seen it at some point or another, what with your involvement with the site -- it's also on the lovely ff.net, of course.

I skimmed out of curiosity and it featured such things as Trinity teaching DADA (a very... physical combat oriented curriculum) and being, I think, Snape's sister.

Or something along those lines.

That's really funny, because I just added a chapter to one of my Remus stories, introduced a not-so-very-important OFC, and named her Zelda. Hahaha.

I might have seen it, but even with being a coder, I don't read everything, and I usually tend to avoid crossovers. Though oddly enough, I can see Trinity as being Snape's sister o_O.

See, no, you can't say things like that to me because now I'm going to start pondering an AU with the two of them fighting crime or something like that...

Crossover frighten me as a general rule too, mostly because I never seem to know the show/book/movie the fandom is question is being crossed over with.

Wow, this is starting to sound like breeding.

I think the best crossover ever was that Simpsons episode wherein Mulder and Scully made a guest appearance. Have you ever seen it?
