Happy birthday,
enderxenocide! :D
I'm not the only one who doesn't care all that much that it's Independence Day (*rolleyes*), am I? America's going to the wolves (hopefully--GIP! *g*), and I want Kerry to win, because dammit, I'm not going to be able to go live in Canada until I'm out of college (parents are paying for college, and they won't pay for Canada), which is at least another five years. I like the fireworks, because dude, fireworks are pretty, but meh. We say the Pledge of Allegiance every morning in school, and I don't. Damn hypocrites. Liberty and justice for all, indeed. But if you care about the Fourth...well, happy Fourth.
Do de do. Went to a friend's seventeenth birthday party yesterday, and acted like teenagers last night. We went "cruisin" at ten-thirty/eleven and came back around midnight, because all we did was drive around Reno/Sparks. Not that interesting. We almost went to a party that some older guys invited us to (you know, the kind with alcohol. *wrinkles nose*), but it ended up being across the street from my house, so we decided against going to a party where my parents might notice us, especially when it was that kind of party.
On the other hand, finished The Fifth Elephant. Now I need to find the next one in the Watch series, because Sam Vimes is the best character ever (well, aside from Remus. *g*), and Carrot's adorable. Now if I could only remember which book it was...
Now I have work to do. Blah. I want to write. Well, no, I want to have some writing done, but I can't have it done if I don't do it, only work takes priority. What possessed me to take on so much responsibility, again?
Well, at least I get to go whack people with wooden swords in another hour and a half. *g*

Date: 2004-07-04 04:01 pm (UTC)Well, that's currently the main reason. I think he'd be a good president, but I just really don't want Bush to win.

Date: 2004-07-04 04:16 pm (UTC)Also,
(Also: no, I don't care it's Independence Day either. As evidenced by the fact that I'd much rather go on about Discworld. And Polaris, who's visiting just now, wants to add that she never says the Pledge of Allegiance either.)

Date: 2004-07-04 05:33 pm (UTC)Night Watch is utterly brilliant.
After that, there's another standalone book in which the Watch plays a smaller part: Monstrous Regiment.
The new book, which is coming out in October or November, is a Watch book, and is called Going Postal. The book is supposed to contain a great deal about golem culture.
