So I wanted to do that Mary Sue meme that it seems practically everyone on the flist was doing, so I go to ff.net's search function and do it for Harry Potter (of course).

I type in Rynne.

No fics.

I type in Corinne, which is my real name.

No fics.

I type in Corie, which is what RL people call me.

No fics.

Those are the only names that anyone actually calls me, so it seems my name is completely safe from Mary Sues!

Thing is, my middle name is such a Mary Sue-ish name *g*.

I type in Ruby, and yes, my middle name really is Ruby. I am Corinne Ruby (which does sound sorta MS-ish if you think about it). Anyway, stories for Ruby (in English, and as a name--most of the stories have ruby as the color/rock):

Ruby Goes To Hogwarts: I'm so bad at summaries. Well, Oliver Wood appears, and some totally new chars (Ruby and Franklin and others). See my foreword for more details, ok? I desperately need readers!!! And I could need some help with rating!!

Three Little Witches: Three witches, Diamond, Ruby, and Prink are invited to attend Hogwarts in the year 2076 and Draco Malfoy is the Head Master

Brunette Out of Brooklyn: Harry and co. encounter Ruby Leonard, a sassy native New Yorker. Needless to say, she stirs things up. My first story, so be nice! Pretty please? On hold

Young and Hopeless: If you like The Power of Three by marauder3moony you will like this. Riddle and Lucius are a bit wild and Ruby tries to keep them in line. Sometimes she will join the fun even if it has consequences. Let's just see how far they're willing to go.

There's four more, and Ruby seems to often have a twin whose name is another precious stone. *rolleyes*

Anyway, something more interesting than my memesheepiness. [livejournal.com profile] thunderemerald wrote a Remus/Sirius/Sirius threesome fic, which is her first smutfic and second slashfic, so go applaud her. She blamed it on me, too. *g*

And. My interview at the library is on Friday at 2:00. *slightly scared* What're interviews like? Some of you have worked in libraries, I know. What kind of questions did they ask?

And! *slightly amazed* I've given lines to everyone who asked for them for the Shakespeare Challenge, and so far have only repeated once, and that accidentally. And many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] gehayi and [livejournal.com profile] ashesofautumn for helping me find lines! *blows kisses* And I still was able to keep the lines I wanted for myself...:p

Sometimes I wonder what it would be like if we could capture our Mary Sues and keep them as pets. Then again, I'd probably forget to feed mine...

...I think I need sleep. Hehe.

I can't help with libraries specifically, but I did work in HR for awhile and have picked up a few things that have been very useful in interviews, two in particular:

1) You probably already know this - but it bears repeating. Eye contact and posture are everything. Sell yourself aggressively. Lean forward slightly, shoulders squared, and don't fidget.

2) Come prepared with a few good questions to ask. Have extras in case they answer some within the interview. Slant the questions to show how *you* are going to help *them*. One of my favorites (if it applies) is, "How is my performance rated? How often? What is your review policy?"

~ Best of luck!
