Good news!

Note to self: refrain from being unnecessarily dramatic and getting people worried. Because I am fine. Yes, I am. I am nervous, but I am fine.

Okay, moving on to the big important thing I wanted to post (not what I talked about yesterday, but something I found out like twenty minutes ago).

Most, if not all, of you know about or are part of the Harry Potter for Grownups Yahoo Group, right? In case you didn't, it's one of the biggest and possibly the most well-known of the Harry Potter discussion groups on Yahoo, and very high-volume (several thousand posts each month and over 11,000 members). And about a week and a half ago, they posted on the list asking for people to apply for the position of List Elf, which is their equivalent of moderator (and one of their duties being to welcome newbies to the list, which is exactly what I do as eMentor!).

So I, having decided that I don't have enough on my plate by just being a coder and an eMentor (:p), decided to send in my own application, because HPfGU is rather prestigious (like FA, which I adore :D), and I'd be as honored to be a part of their staff as I am to be part of FA's staff. And especially now that it's about summer, I figured I would have some time to commit to this as well.

I didn't tell you all when I applied, because, if I'd been rejected, I didn't want to post about it, and I figured that if I didn't tell people, then it'd be easier not to get my hopes up.

Well, as can be deduced by me posting about this now, I've got my acceptance email to be a HPfGU List Elf, and will be joining the admin team whenever they issue me my invitation.

I will, of course, not be neglecting my duties at FA, because it's first in my heart and I've been there longer, and I love being part of the staff there. But I am also immensely proud to have been selected as a HPfGU List Elf, and can't wait to get started. :)

Is this what you thought we would be upset over?? Never. If it is something you want, I can't see how any of us would be anything but supportive. Congratulations. But, if you start getting wrist cramps and blurry vision from too much online, perhaps roll your desk chair back and take a break.

No, this isn't what I know you'll be upset over :p. I only found about this like half an hour before I posted about it. Thanks, and I will take a break if I need it.

clearly, i'm an idiot. You clearly stated that this was NOT the thing you mentioned. Nonetheless, I can't imagine somthing you did that would have everyone mad at you. But, now you have me visualizing the HP Warner Bros Nazis knocking down your door demanding the names of all your slash compatriots. Which is silly, since we are all pretty public about it.

Heh, nothing so bad as all that :p. I am possibly making a mountain out of a molehill with this, but I'd rather do that than make a molehill out of a mountain. *shrug* My RL friends seem to find it mountainous enough...
