rynne: (happy spider)

Oh my God there is a huge spider on my ceiling. Huge! And on my ceiling, so I can't trap it and get rid of it! It is DIRECTLY ABOVE MY HEAD, and I keep feeling like it's going to just DROP on me. Urgh. *shudders*

Well, now it's moving. Hopefully it'll get close enough for me to trap it soon, because I don't want to just keep...watching it.

*eyes it*

You should know your icon makes me want to curl up and cry. I have a ridiculously bad case of arachnophobia-- I tend to freeze and/or hyperventilate if they're really big. (And by "really big" I mean "big enough to see.")

Aww, I'm sorry. I've had it for years, and this just seemed an appropriate post to use it. I've changed it.

Oh geez, it's all right. I only really panic if they're actually present (or it's a picture of one of those foot long Australian things of doom)-- you don't have to change your icon!

XD This kind of thing can be difficult to judge on the internet, so I favored caution, since I know there are people who do get triggered by things like that. My sister can't even look at the picture that icon came from without squeaking. :p

I gained a certain amount of immunity to onscreen spiders from watching Discovery Channel and such when I was a kid. Not that LotR doesn't make me whimper and flail, but there's an important difference in size. Also the ones on nature shows aren't, y'know, trying to kill the heroes.

OMG, Shelob makes me whimper and flail, and I'm not afraid of spiders. (I don't like it when they lurk, but I'm not afraid.) Also, Aragog in Chamber of Secrets. That's just...*shudders* I can never directly watch those bits--I always have to turn away until they're over. Though of course, Shelob and Aragog are a lot more dangerous than the typical house spider. :p

Then it disappeared! It's hiding somewhere I can't see it, and who knows when it's going to appear again? It's just LURKING.

*watches the ceiling*

When bugs do things like that I have to go to sleep with my head under the duvet, covered in bug spray. I may have some slightly issues.
