Today I read The Time Traveler's Wife. I don't have that many thoughts, except that it was an awesome book, with a really neat idea. Also, it rather reminded of me of At Swim, Two Boys, though more in general tone than any specifics.

Now, have some predictions for tomorrow's Doctor Who. :p

--The people were "saved" like a computer saves a document. They're now in the little girl's world.

--The little girl is the main computer, who only thinks she's a little girl.

--We get another Rose appearance.

--River Song really is the Doctor's SO (maybe wife, maybe not) from the future, but meeting now ensures that relationship won't necessarily happen.

Now for some not-so-serious predictions. I was going to say "I mock because I love", but given that it's Moffat, that's...not really true. :p But I'd rather mock than be nervous, so.

--At some point River Song is going to make a reference to "dancing" with the Doctor. And she's going to call him her Lonely Angel. She's also going to pull a banana out of her suit and tell the Doctor "Bananas are good".

--River Song is really Romana, the villain, and a Doctor fangirl who has deluded herself into thinking he loves her too, ALL AT THE SAME TIME. She did the watch thing too, but even still, the Time War drove her insane, and all she remembers is the Doctor, so she grew obsessed with him, manufacturing meetings and orchestrating something important enough to catch his attention so she can finally meet him.

--Either that, or she's Jack, who decided to be a woman on his way to becoming a giant head in a jar.

--Since now Moffat apparently likes to reference a lot of other people as well as himself, there will be a hologram, of the little girl maybe, saying "Help me, Doctor, you're my only hope".

Anyone else have any predictions, serious or not, that you'd like to share?

I don't think that could have redeemed the episode for me, but it might have made it better. :p

Amusingly enough, when Donna popped up as a hologram for a split second, I shouted that atthe screen. And then I made it into a macro. Still didn't help the episode, alas.

Funny, Time Traveller's Wife reminded me of At Swim Two Boys, too!!! :-) and yeah, an excellent book.

The endings especially. Very bittersweet. Both were such good books!

I think your right about the little girl. That was my thoughts, too. Unlike you, though, I enjoyed last weeks episode and I'm intrigued by River Song. I just LOVE having DR Who back on tv so that my kids can enjoy it as I did. Though I have a feeling I might not like who she is//as in The Dr's future.

The twist with the little girl was...not that much of a twist. So you watched it as a kid? I was only born two years before the old series ended, and in America, so I only came to it as an adult, without any of my childhood being influenced by it.

Oh yes... I watched it as a child - usually from behind the sofa! : ) MY Doctor was Peter Davidson - he of the celery stick. I met him once many years ago, an absolutely darling of a man! : ) But I remember watching it from Jon Pertwee, right through to Sylvester Mcoy. I loved the tv movie with Paul McGann, too.

The "modern" series beats the oldies almost hands down and David Tennant (who my best friend went to school with) is fab! It's good seeing a fellow Scot do so well.

I was annoyed that the "twist" wasn't that "twisty." And I have to admit that last nights episode left me feeling a little let down. I have a feeling that River Song is/was (timey wimey stuff) the doctor's "future?" wife - since it seems she knew his name and that only time he's ever said it was to his wife. But is was naughty of them to leave us hanging like that.

I'm reading "At Swim, Two Boys" right now! Good to know what I should read next if I like it.

At Swim, Two Boys is a wonderful book. I got really invested in it as I was reading, though, which makes it hard to reread. Same thing happened with Time Traveler's Wife, which is just as wonderful, in a completely different yet strangely similar way.

Nono, she can't do that, Captain Spike already did that on Torchwood.

Honestly if River is Romana I'd be very disappointed. Cos I love Romana and River does nothing for me.

Ahahaha I forgot about that. But then, I tend to forget about Torchwood. :p

I never really seriously thought River would be Romana--Moffat likes his own characters too much. But yeah, I love Romana and I hate River.
