rynne: (hug me?)

So this morning around 7:30 I was woken up by the worst cramps of my life. Not an exaggeration. I've never had cramps so bad they woke me up before.

I took some ibuprofen, but it was absolutely no help. Nor was curling into a ball and whimpering loudly. Finally after about half an hour of trying to go back to sleep and hoping the ibuprofen would work, I got up and walked around in the hopes that would do something.

That didn't help either, but I met my little sister, who is the best little sister ever, because even though she was home sick from school, she was willing to go to the store and buy Nyquil for me. And on her way out, she talked to my mom, who was walking the dog, and when my mom came in, she gave me tylenol with codeine. At this point the godawful cramps had continued unabated for more than an hour, and I was actually sobbing with pain when talking to sister and mom.

So I took the tylenol with codeine, and when sister got back I took the Nyquil, and thank God for Nyquil, because it knocked me out even though the cramps hadn't gone away completely yet.

Wednesdays at 1 are my appointments with my therapist, so I set my alarm for noon, but when it went off, I'd only gotten five hours of sleep, and the Nyquil was making me dizzy and way too drowsy to drive myself. But my little sister, who is still the best ever, offered to take me to my appointment. I didn't even have to ask; she just volunteered.

Except that Nyquil and tylenol with codeine does not appear to be a good combination for me. About forty-five minutes into the session, I had to bolt into the bathroom to throw up. I managed to at least make it into the bathroom before losing half my lunch, though I got the tiles, the toilet seat, my hands, and my shirt, but I lost the other half of my lunch a minute later, but at least that made it into the toilet. I cleaned up as best I could, but I still felt disgusting, and I was really glad little sister picked me up and took me home about ten minutes after that.

Now I'm still sleepy and my cramps are coming back, though they're not that bad right now. *sigh*

*HUG*

I don't know what else you can try in terms of medication, but I find that camomile tea and a hot bath help when my cramps are really bad. Also, stretching.

I really hope you're feeling better soon, sweetie.

Ugh. The only thing that works on those cramps for me (and I get them every month is either prescription Tramadol or full-on Vicodin. When I was younger, my mother would put a few drops of her own liquid morphine into OJ for me to drink.

Those kinds of cramps SUCK. *pets gently* Try Aleve + Motrin if they happen again, and if they happen again DEFINITELY get yourself checked out. Full-on exam, pap, and get blood panels done that check your CA-125.

A bath and then a hot water bottle usually makes things easier for me. *hugs*

*hugs* I definitely know where you're coming from with the cramps; it's like that for me every month. *hugs* I hope they go away by tomorrow. :( Sorry I don't really know of anything that can help, but you know, if it just suddenly started this month, maybe you should check it out if it happens next month too?

Aouch!! *big hugs* Womanhood, the Big Cosmic Joke! I still think guys ought to have some kind of horrible pain to deal with every month.

Unfortunately I don't have any magic potion for cramps. I'm lucky in that mine generally aren't too bad and so far Nurofen still takes care of them easily enough, but I've heard getting raging drunk sometimes works... *coughs*

I really hope you're feeling better today. <3

wow that sounds terrible I don't think I've ever been that sick because of cramps. Hope you're doing better today! Tuesday is coming soon! Hold out until then! If you want to do something for a short bit gimme a call. I can take a break from studying long enough to get a bite to eat or something.

*hugs* Poor thing. That is a truly awful experience, but at least you had a little sister to take care of you. I hope you feel better soon!

Urgh. I used to get those. I got put on the pill for PCOS when I was 18, and that helped, but ibuprofin/hot baths/heating pads/laying on my stomach rarely did.
