...Okay, so it's been a month since I last updated. I have no real excuse--it's not that nothing's been going on, but I haven't been much interested in writing it down. Every time I tried to, it just sounded too boring even for me to want to read.


*I finally started seeing a counselor again. I like her well enough, but she knows very little about internet life, and had never heard of fanfiction before I mentioned it, so half our sessions so far have been me explaining enough about fandom and fanfic for her to understand at least something about this thing that's so important to me.

*Today I just got back from a few days at our house in Santa Cruz with my family. Friday, I am going to Vegas with some friends. I haven't been out of the house for so much cumulative time since I came home for winter break. XD

*This month, I've been reccing X-Files at crack_van. Next month I'm reccing Star Wars again, though I signed up there mostly 'cause not many other people are and I don't want it taken off the permanent rotation. Also, I've been making an X-Files reclist, along the lines of my other reclists, but it's a damn huge fandom.

*I want to meta on X-Files, but dunno if anyone would actually be interested in that. Nor do I know if what I want to say has already been said, because so far in the X-Files fandom I've only located the transcript archive, the big fanfic sites, and the xfiles comm. I should probably go look for essays, since there's totally stuff I want to write about, but I don't want to be repetitive and/or tl;dr.

*thistlerose, I got the CD and the Sano doll! Thank you so much, and sorry I kept forgetting to mention that I did get them! >.<

*I am going to sign up for Celebration IV, the big Star Wars convention in May. Is there anyone else on my flist who's going?

*Dammit, I need to start writing fanfic again. It's been way too bloody long since I've written much of anything. I've even got a good idea for remix_redux--now I just need to make myself sit down and write it!

*I can't think of anything else right now, but I'm definitely going to try to post more regularly.

As much as I actually would like to do something like that, other things have more priority than making her really understand fanfic. I gave her a few sites like ff.net, so she can check them on her own, if she wants.

I recognise your problem though. Maybe if you gave her one of those nifty essays they have out there on the subject of fanfic? I can't really recommend any off the top of my head, but there are some really interesting ones about the subject.

She might find essays on fanfic interesting, but we really have other things to talk about. She doesn't really need as in-depth an understanding as I have, anyway.
