rynne: (kill you with my mind)

You know, I should have listened to my dance teacher, all those years ago. Stand up straight, she told us. Keep good posture. Which I did and still do, when dancing, but I've always been fairly tall, and it was easier to just slouch.

Well, nineteen years of slouching seems to be killing my back and neck now--or at least, if it's not the slouching, I don't know what it is. I have a perpetual crick in my back and my neck that just won't be relieved for more than a few seconds, no matter how I twist and how straight I sit and stand. It's driving me crazy, but I don't know if it's serious enough to go to anyone with--it's not really causing any pain, for the most part. And besides, I don't have any health insurance at the moment; I'm not a minor and I'm not currently a full-time student, so I'm not covered by my parents', and I still haven't found a job of my own yet, much less one that will offer such useful benefits. Gah.

And it's February. I fucking hate February. I want summer back.

Have you tried changing how you sleep? My back always kills when I don't support it properly in bed.

I can't sleep unless I'm on my side, and I inevitably do a lot of tossing and turning. I'm not sure how I'd be able to support it properly and still sleep.

Stuff pillows under any parts that dip or result in your spine being misaligned. Where does your back hurt?

Between and below my shoulder blades.

I've actually tried the pillows thing, though. They usually end up on the floor. *sigh*

That sound like stress tension, actually. Though I am sure the crick in your neck doesn't help. Maybe try pillows for that?

That makes sense; I only started noticing it a year ago, and it's only gotten bad recently, and this has probably been the most stressful year I've ever had. Thanks for the advice. :)
