1. Are you named after anyone? If so, explain.
My first name, no. But my middle name, Ruby, is my paternal grandmother's first name. For middle names, I got my paternal grandmother's, Twin got maternal grandmother's, and Little Sister got mother's.

2. Do you have your children's names picked out already? If so, is there any significance?
I heartily do not want children, and have never actually thought of names should I manage to have any.

3. If you were born a member of the opposite sex what would your name have been?
I...don't know. Never asked. Will do that tomorrow, as now I'm curious.

4. If you could re-name yourself what name would you pick and why?
I like my name, even if people constantly either misspell or mispronounce it (or both). Corinne Ruby is rather pretty, don't you think? I wouldn't re-name myself.

5. Are there any mispronunciations/typos that people do w/your name constantly?
Corrine and Corrinne for misspellings, and Cor-een (instead of Cor-in) for mispronunciation. And for my nickname (Corie), most people ending up pronouncing it right, but spelling it Corrie, Corey, Cory...whatever. It is a very rare person who can both spell and pronounce my name right without me having to correct them.


I have three and a half weeks before I go back to school. About quitting work--I know I should give at least two weeks' notice, but two weeks before I go back is the week I'm on vacation. Is it better to give notice three weeks beforehand, or just be a day or two fewer than two weeks? Also, what's the protocol for giving notice? Does it need to be written, what do I say, etc? I mean, my bosses know that I'm going back to school at the end of August, but I assume I should do something formalized.

Also, a few days ago, Twin and I finished watching the first season of X-Files. OMG. *wants Netflix to GIVE ME THE GODDAMN SECOND SEASON RIGHT NOW*

I hate summers in a desert, and what the dry heat does to my hands. *feverishly applies lotion* And fraggit, I think I've gotten more papercuts in the past month than I have in the past year; we're running out of band-aids. My hands just don't seem to like July.

I think you should just give two weeks before your vacation notice. The more notice, the better with employers. And make it written.

I live in Florida -- oppressive heat, but no need for feverish applications of lotion, at least. XD

I agree with the person above about giving notice earlier. They won't mind if it's that early, but if it's too late, they will.

Ruby is a cool middle name! My name would have been Bartholomew if I was a boy. Ack.
