Jul. 22nd, 2006 03:08 amWhy must I always find long, enthralling fics at one in the morning, when I have things to do the next day? At least it's work at eleven rather than class at nine, but still.
And why do I have such an inability to take a break from reading enthralling fics when I should go to bed? It's not like they're going to run away from me tomorrow.
*doesn't care, and goes back to reading*
Also, completely randomly, something Twin and I were discussing when watching that rerun of House tonight--was House already a doctor at that hospital before his leg? We couldn't tell.
...I think a firework just went off. It's three in the morning. What the hell? *goes to investigate*

Date: 2006-07-22 05:56 pm (UTC)A lot of people assume that the infarction happened five years before the show. In Three Stories, House says to Stacy, "The past five years have been..." meaning the five years since Stacy left. But, Vogler says specifically, in Mob Rules, that House has worked at the hospital for eight years. Annnnd, we know for certain that House was taking Vicodin when he started at PPTH, because Cuddy says in Detox, "It’s double what you were taking when I hired you."
So the only way the pieces fit is if the infarction happened at least eight years ago, Cuddy then hired House, and Stacy left him three years later. I think a lot of people assume the infarction happened five years ago because they have trouble believing Stacy would have stayed for three more years, but it's the only way the information the writers have given us actually works.
We still don't know for certain, though.
That was probably a hell of a lot more answer than you were expecting, but like I said, the before-show timeline is all over the place.
