Sep. 18th, 2008 10:41 pmI hate crane flies. They're huge, and they just sit on the wall or the ceiling and lurk. I hate it when bugs lurk. And they're huge, so it's hard to just ignore them, and they're everywhere. It's a rare day when I don't have at least one in my room, and we can't really keep them out, since our windows don't have screens. So either we stifle or we have bugs, and really I do prefer the bugs because they're harmless and don't do anything (there's one above my bed that's just been sitting there for hours), but I hate it when they lurk.
Also, I looked them up in wikipedia, because I'd always thought of them as mosquito hawks until people up here kept referring to them as crane flies. And apparently mosquito hawk is a regional term for the same bug, and a bunch of other countries call them daddy long-legs. Which just sounds weird, because to me, daddy long-legs are the big spiders.
So in summation: I hate bugs, and people use too many different terms for the same thing. XD
