Mar. 21st, 2008 11:13 pmI bought The Stone Rose audiobook from iTunes.
This is a bit odd for me, because normally I hate audiobooks. Seriously, I hate them. My reading comprehension is so far above my listening comprehension that it's not even funny. I am not a fan of all-lecture classes, but when I do have them, I have to take copious notes to make sure information doesn't fly in one ear and out the other. And with books I read for fun, I'm always wanting to go back and reread parts and linger over my favorite bits and imagine my own voices for the characters and all that stuff.
But I still bought this audiobook. Part of it is because I can't get a hold of a paper copy of it. :p There are no Doctor Who books in my library system, and I've only found four in the bookstores, one of which is an Eight book and the others are Ten and Martha. I am sort of perplexed that Reno has a B&N warehouse and yet it has not a single Doctor Who book. Why are British things so difficult to find in America? Gah. And I really wanted to read this book because I've heard it's fairly Doctor/Rose shippy, which makes me...shallow, but consistent in my shippiness. :p
The other part of me buying this book is that David Tennant is narrating it. *g* I may not be a fan of audiobooks, but I could totally listen to David Tennant talk for two and a half hours. TOTALLY. Especially since the actual narrative is in his native accent, which is...pure guh.
