Jun. 19th, 2005 11:43 pmSo my twin, my mom, and I were talking during dinner about reading male authors vs female authors, and Twin said that she usually reads male authors because female authors don't write her favorite genre, science fiction--or at least, they don't write science fiction without a fantasy edge, like Ursula Le Guin and Anne McCaffrey and Madeleine L'Engle do.
My mom and I wracked our brains, but we couldn't think of any woman who wrote pure science fiction, without the fantasy elements. And I find it hard to believe that women ignore a genre like this, especially with the age we're in (technology and so on), so...does anyone know of any female sci-fi writers, and if so, could you recommend them to me?
