I don't understand why people keep saying that Ron and Hermione fight all the time.

Er, what? So they've had their big Cat-Rat fight in PoA, and the Yule Brawl, but I think all the bickering is exaggerated. All the times they get along and encourage each other and have fun with each other seem to outnumber all the times they argue with each other (not counting friendly arguing like their debate about what to get Harry in Honeydukes right before he pops up himself).

And besides that, no matter how often they bicker, they still seem to be really good friends, you know? They aren't friends with each other just because they're both friends with Harry--if that were true, they wouldn't be able to enjoy each other's company the way they do when Harry's not around (take that first trip to Hogsmeade, for instance--they both came back from it, exclaiming over how much fun they had, and I'm assuming they were together through the whole trip). Harry's not the glue that holds the Trio together; the whole Trio is the glue, because all of them are friends with each other and like it that way.

Ron and Hermione are good friends both because of and in spite of their "fights". If they've been having them for five years now and have just grown closer as friends (as Harry's grown closer to both of them as well), then I highly doubt their (not very) "constant bickering" is going to tear their friendship apart.

Take this however you want, as arguing for a friendship or arguing for a relationship; I don't care as I like both. I just hate it when people demean Ron and Hermione's friendship and reduce it to "constant bickering". It's so much more than that.

(Pssst! LJ's spellcheck wanted to change "Hogsmeade" to "Orgasmed". *snickers*)
