WTF? HELP

All right, something happened with the reclist and I don't know what. It's now stopped in the middle of the Cs, and that includes in the edit journal thingy as well.

Someone please help me figure out what's wrong so I can fix it? I've got the list of fics itself (yay for cached Google pages!) saved in a Word document (which is currently fifteen pages, btw), but I don't want to have to hunt down all the links for everything below the cutoff point again, as that'll take forever.

Anyone know what's wrong?

It's possible you reached the max length for an entry.

I doubt it--I checked it in Word, and it's around 3000 words with about 20,000 characters--surely more than that is allowed? And surely I'd be allowed to edit the bloody thing without losing everything on there...*sigh* *goes to check LJ FAQ again*

LJ generally cuts off at around 20 pages. When you try to add over that, it cuts off on its own. Remembering your reclist, though, I also doubt that that's what happened. Of course, I'm not sure what else could have happened, either.

Especially as I saw on the FAQ that the cutoff point for characters is supposed to be 65,535, which is at least three times what my reclist is.

Two possibilities that I know of - the first being maybe there's an incomplete HTML tag somewhere in there? Have you looked into it?

The second thing, which happened to be once before, is that I edited and re-published an entry before LJ had finished loading it in the edit entry box and so it lost everything below that point it hadn't loaded yet. :/

I hope it's the first! Or something else entirely!!!

I haven't been able to find an incomplete HTML tag, and I've looked--that was the first thing I thought of.

I don't think I re-published the entry before LJ had finished loading it. It's a long entry, sure, but it's never taken that long to load before, and I had the edit window open for at least a couple minutes, as I was adding a link and therefore had to make sure the link was correct, title, rating, author, and so on were all right, and do all the tags...and I'm sure that even if it hadn't been done loading, it would have been done loading more than the Cs.

*sigh* Stupid LJ.

Something may have been lost with the power failure - was it up after the site came back? They may be able to retrieve it from backups for you.

Otherwise, you can do a viewsource on the cached page and that should give you the links.
