Baaa. Baaaa.
Nov. 22nd, 2004 09:38 pmYes, I'm going to be a bloody sheep again, but it's partly because I'm putting off my Government homework due tomorrow, and anything's better than writing bills where I have to actually think of something to write, so :p.
From

I like to make stuff up, and I like to think the best of people. So, post a comment on this entry and I will tell you something nice about yourself that I bet you didn't know. :D (Sam's words, yo)
And from practically everyone on my flist:
Step One
- Make a post (public, friends-locked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.
Step Two
- Surf around your friends list (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.
You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.
There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
1. To be accepted into Puget Sound
2. Like tons of other people, fanart for any of my fics
3. To meet people like
allisonblair and
vixenette
4. R/S fic written for me and hitting my kinks
5. The ability to remember the names of the songs I hear on the radio so I can get them off iTunes
6. Sirius is alive and he and Remus have lots of hot sex, traumatizing Harry for life
7. Cloud/Sephiroth and Crowley/Aziraphale icons
8. More paid icon time (and paid account, but that will last a bit longer)
9. The Last Unicorn and At Swim, Two Boys
10. Sleep
If someone wants my snail mail address, would
thistlerose or
allisonblair mind giving people my address if you're asked, to preserve surprises for me? :p
Also, thank you to
metaquotes for telling me:
Go to Google and type in the words "Miserable Failure" and hit "I'm Feeling Lucky".
anniesj, I bet you especially would like the results. :D

Date: 2004-11-22 10:17 pm (UTC)Otherwise, I like Sirius aware of his shortcomings and not sure that, because of those shortcomings, that Remus will want to be with him even if Remus likes him that way. Sirius was confident in the pensieve, yes, but being confident in that situation and being confident in love are two entirely different things, especially when Remus is also one of his best friends and who holds one of his most tightly-kept secrets (the Animagus transformation) in the palms of his hands.
I also like Remus being hesitant because he knows Sirius's shortcomings as well, and isn't sure he wants to risk their friendship for a love that may or may not work out. And then he decides that he wants Sirius anyway."
(I must admit I was thinking of 3WOT at the time I was typing that :D)
Also, dirty talk. Like Sirius saying all these dirty things and Remus trying desperately to hold onto his control and eventually failing. Otherwise, just anything where they're really, really in love, have some outside problems (like girls chasing after them), but it doesn't matter because they're really in love anyway. :D:D:D Oh, and kilts. *g*
Also, I wish I could blow glass as well as you could. :D

Date: 2004-11-23 07:05 am (UTC)HMMMMMMM.
Well, there's some dirty talk in the story I'm writing now. I think your puppy-kinks are very similar to mine. There's something very...satisfying...about deep, deep love without cheesy cliches. Or if there are, the boys know they're being cheesy and can laugh at themselves.
And yes, kilts. I like to think I was responsible for giving a good portion of the puppyshipping fandom a kilt fetish, but really I was just pointing out the obvious.
^__^
Also, I wish I could blow glass as well as you could.
I wish I could, too! How cool. :)

...Most of our fandom views are very similar, you know. I don't think I've met anyone else who shares as many ships with me as you do, along with our views on characterization, etc. <33 And just yes. Gotta love the love. :D
