[livejournal.com profile] crack_broom.

Like [livejournal.com profile] crack_van, only just for HP. Officially starts in December.

And guess who's first reccer for Remus/Sirius in December?

*cackles with glee*

This's gonna be fun. The only problem will be limiting myself...

Also, I've got a problem, completely unrelated to [livejournal.com profile] crack_broom.

You know how [livejournal.com profile] lykaios asked us about personal investments in the election, and I said I would write Remus/Snape if Bush won?

I prefer keeping my word (even if it takes me forever--I will finish the birthday drabbles, promise, and the [livejournal.com profile] queerditch_pub remix, which I'm having a bit of trouble with), so I intend to uphold that promise.

Only see, the problem is...I don't know how to write it. I can't think of a plausible situation that is not AU where Remus would voluntarily do anything romatic/sexual/whatever with Snape. I can see some motivations for Snape, but not for Remus.

So. Er. I know some of you like Remus/Snape--could you help me think of plausible situations? I'm not going to have Remus in love with Snape (even writing "Remus in love with Snape" makes me wince, despite the negative), because I can't bring myself to do that. In my world, he's in love with Sirius, and he always will be. But since love is not necessarily required in shippy fics, I figure I can write the fic without feeling like I'm swallowing something slimy and nasty.

So, given that situation, is there anything my enormously talented flist can come up with? *g*

eep! Does it have to be voluntary? (The Remus/Snape thing?)

Well, I thought about writing non-con...but for all that I don't like Snape, I can't see him into that sort of thing, and I can't think of a situation (not even right after full moon) where Remus could/would let it happen. Nor do I think myself capable of all the psychological aftermath of such a thing, and even if this is my least favorite pairing, I am going to try to write it to the best of my ability, so I'm not going to try to write just a non-con scene without the aftermath, as it would feel somewhat of a cop-out. Does that make sense?

Yep, that makes sense.

You could always... hmm, did you promise not to do cliche? "Remus and Snape are locked in a room one day, and...."

"...and Remus subtly needles Snape until Snape gets so angry he spontaneously combusts."

Should something of the sort happen to them, I imagine they'd kill each other before they'd kiss each other. And sigh, writing to the best of my ability means too that I'm going to try to make them as IC as possible, and I can't see them being locked into a room and subsequently going at it like bunnies as IC.

Necrophilia!

nah, I have no idea. I've never liked Remus/Snape. Ever.

I never get tired of the "I'm lonely, you're lonely, and maybe we can hook up for a little while and be lonely together" type of rl/ss fics.

But it doesn't explain to me why Remus would choose Snape to be lonely with. Why not Bill, or Kingsley, or even a woman? Someone who he likes and respects and who likes and respects him in turn? I thought about that situation, but I couldn't see why Remus would choose Snape to be lonely with.

Someone who he likes and respects and who likes and respects him in turn?

Because of exactly that reason. If you like someone you're more likely to become emotionally attached to them and/or worry that they're with you out of pity. (I'm thinking post-OotP here, since well, that's when the pairings works best for me.)

With Snape the angle of I don't love you, and I'll never have to worry about falling in love with you, works nicely.

I think Snape/Remus can be kind of wistfully dysfunctional when they're boys, pre-prank, "no one can find out we're doing this, my friends would kill you, and me" on both sides.

Or, you know, there's always the mourning drunken stumble. Or the aliens made us have sex. Potions accident. Tantric spells. Polyjuice.

There's always "low self-esteem Remus" desperate for anyone to care about him--and Severus being the first someone. And to make it more appealing to a R/S shipper, a bit of jealousy just might make Sirius realize what he's overlooking.

Obviously, this has to be pre-prank, but perhaps not that far before.

Blech. I feel for you, I do.

The only thing that comes to mind is a spell or potion screwup. Somehow they're both hit with it and things happen...and then they both agree to never, ever mention it again.

It's not very original, but its the least squickiest thing I can think of. Good luck!

You have my deepest condolences.

Yurghhghgh. *shudder*

I can understand that! I've only written one Remus /Snape myself (and even that was more Remus / Sirius and a bet on Snape) and it was hard going. (pets pups).

How about doing it with Snape having a dream?? Or Remus having a nightmare :)
