It's snowing right now, very hard, and it was raining earlier. I'm tempted to say that the environment is in mourning.

I've got Crosby, Stills, and Nash's "Ohio" stuck in my head. Isn't that fitting.

We discussed 1984 in class today. Isn't that also fitting.

I listened to Kerry's concession speech, but I couldn't bear to listen to Bush's acceptance speech.

I'm not going to even try NaNo this month anymore. I'll write that blasted Remus/Snape that I said I would (and watch out, for I'm sure it will fit my mood), and I'll finally finish the birthday drabbles, and I'll hope that this country doesn't manage to blow itself up.

...This is depressing.

I didn't listen to Kerry's speech. I didn't listen to Bush's. I have no interest in what either of them have to say.

Hah. We're in the middle of a sudden and very violent thunderstorm over here.

I am totally in that same place. It's hard to want to do any good in the world right now, isn't it? I want to wear black and learn another language and move far away.

I am so fucking depressed.

I am sorry you have to write Remus/Severus. That will hurt a lot, I imagine.

So... Hillary/Obama 2008?

More than half my school is terrified this country is, indeed, going to blow itself up in the next four years.

We're all so screwed.

If the country blows itself up I'll pay you five bucks. (Bit of a joke there...okay, bad joke, but I tried.)

I can't even imagine how half of the population of the United States must feel right now. All I can say is I am never going to take anything for granted again, and that my thoughts are with 110% of the people on my flist (that's including you) whose lives will essentially never be the same again. I really hope things turn out, one way or the other.

Since Thursday, I've noticed three people reading 1984 on the bus. At least one of them was just starting it--inspired, perhaps?

Heh. I wouldn't be surprised--that book really is too scary, and there are parallels that I don't really want to have to make.
