It was the morning after the night before,
And Remus was already awake and out the door.
“Wait for me,” Sirius yelled, and pulled on his socks,
Cursing his head for feeling like so many rocks.
What happened last night? He couldn’t remember,
Nor could he think—was it already November?
Just a few more days, the calendar said,
And Sirius was tempted to go back to bed.
“Bah! I have time,” he said—rather, grumbled,
But seeing the parchment, he felt rather humbled.
‘Remus is insane,’ he thought to himself.
‘Once November starts, he’ll be busy as an elf!
I’ll hardly see him, he’ll spend all his time writing,
Cursing his novel, fighting and fighting
To put words on the page, over fifty thousand;
It’ll be liked being mired in quicksand!’
Now he remembered what happened last night—
Remus had an idea, and they celebrated all right
With wine and good food and of course with sex too,
Though thinking about it, Sirius felt almost blue.
‘Once November starts, he’ll be just too busy
Writing and writing until he’s so dizzy
That when night comes around he’ll just want to sleep
And tell me that my hand to myself I should keep.
My sex life will suffer, and it’s all thanks to him,
As if writing a novel in a month wasn’t dim!
Already he’s gone, I’ll bet to stock up on tea
For night after night of long writing spree.
Curse you, Remus, you’ll keep me from sex
For sake of writing your own God-blasted text!’
He growled and that’s when Remus came back,
Apparating in with a very loud crack!
“Where did you go?” Sirius asked right away.
“It’s way too early to be beginning the day.”
“Just to get tea,” Remus replied,
And Sirius noted he looked bleary-eyed.
“It’s warm under here,” Sirius said.
“So why don’t you just come back to bed?”
“I can’t,” Remus said, sipping his drink.
“I’ve got to plan out my novel, and so I must think.”
“Can’t you think just as well here in bed?”
But Remus was already shaking his head.
“If I do that,” he said with a smile,
“I know it’s not thinking I’ll be doing for awhile.”
Sirius grinned. “Of course not, but Remus,
Why are you doing something as insane as this?”
“This?” Remus asked, saying with a frown.
“Yes!” Sirius exclaimed, gesturing around.
“This novel of yours, with one month to write,
And which, knowing you, you’ll be at day and night!”
“Oh Padfoot,” Remus replied, kissing him hard,
“I promise, when writing, I won’t disregard
You, or even,” he said with a smirk,
“Nor will I ignore your very many perks.”
“Perks,” Sirius said, raising an eyebrow.
“Is that really all I am to you now?”
Sirius grinned to show he was teasing,
And Remus’s answer was so very pleasing.
He put his tea down on the floor
And started kissing Sirius until, once more,
Clothes started flying every which way,
And in bed both of them wanted to stay.
“So much for thinking,” Sirius said with a grin.
Remus just shrugged and kissed him again.
“I’ll leave the novel for November,” later he said,
“because right now I think I’ll just stay in bed.”

Date: 2004-10-30 01:23 am (UTC)I'm doing it, but not on this LJ - I'm writing original fic, so am doing it on my Erastes pen name and in that journal.
Whilst all my other friends are writing ideas and plots and structure, I am firmly sticking my head in a bucket and going LA LA LA.
