Memesheepiness (first line challenge!)
Oct. 7th, 2004 07:17 pmRandomly at dinner tonight, my twin and I realized that her first and middle initials are LJ. We both cracked up and our parents didn't understand. *g*
Fandom's depressing me right now. I don't know why, but it just is.
Therefore, baah. I will be a sheep and do that first-line meme. Write things for me and maybe I can finally be inspired again to finish those birthday drabbles, which I've been delaying all too long. Considering how many stories I have, you have a large selection of lines. :)
It was only a few days after the Defense OWL that they saw each other again, passing each other in the halls.
"Moony, I'm bored."
I wait for him in the library.
Two hands slid around Remus and hugged him around the chest while he was doing his Defense essay.
Sometimes Ginny dreamed that blood was running down her arms and pooling in her palms, red and sticky and almost sweet when she brought her hands to her lips, and she laughed as she opened her hand and let it escape through her fingers.
Before he strikes, one may deny that the Devil walks.
Remus found few things as exhilarating as flying.
The dreams came to him every night now, and Remus wasn't sure of what to do about them.
Once upon a time there were two men who loved each other, and they were able to live happily ever after together.
"Regulus, wake up! Wake up, boy, if you know what's good for you!"
One of the last things that Remus would have ever expected would be to see Sirius walk out of the Veil exactly five years after he fell in.
Draco Malfoy was not in love with Harry Potter.
They were at it again, Harry thought with resignation.
"I've got detention," Sirius had said.
There's always a price to pay, Remus thinks, looking down at Sirius sleeping on the bed.
"Hey, Remus," Sirius says, chewing on a piece of grass.
It all starts with the daily shower ritual, as always.
Hermione hadn't meant to watch, but God she couldn't look away now that she was.
The party went on around them, a Quidditch celebration, with James in the very center, dramatically recounting all the various plays he made in order to win them the Cup.
This was what I love, Remus thought.
Peter sat on his bed, twirling his hands and trying not to think about a lot of things.
It was supposed to be a detention.
There were many things Remus Lupin never expected to be doing.
“Where are you?” Remus asked the person in his arms, the person holding him tightly around his waist as if afraid to let him go.
Harry knows that what he’s doing is wrong, but he doesn’t care.
It was in the dark of the night that Remus heard a scratch at the back door of his small cottage in Scotland, and he knew that Sirius had finally arrived, as Dumbledore had said he would in the letter.
*waits* I hope this isn't a flop. Wouldn't that be depressing...

156 words and I can't think of a title.
Date: 2004-10-07 08:44 pm (UTC)It’s the only place I can know sure he’ll be.
He’s always in the library and – walking through the stacks of bound parchment and musty smell of ancient tombs – I suppose I can understand why. It’s a peaceful place, really, quiet and safe and everything he holds dear while away from us – away from me. I’m an intruder here and I know it. No matter how often I enter this haven of his, right now I feel unwelcome. My face is possibly the last thing he wants to see.
But I wait and he comes and I’m not sure if the expression flashing across his face is anger or surprise or joy. Perhaps it’s a bit of all three. Whatever it is, though, it disappears behind that placid mask and seals itself within honey-brown eyes.
“Sirius.”
And I’m not sure which of my many transgressions I’m apologizing for anymore.

Date: 2004-10-07 09:00 pm (UTC)One of the last things that Remus would have ever expected would be to see Sirius walk out of the Veil exactly five years after he fell in.
He had just grown used to the dull ache that always seemed to accompany Sirius's leaving, because that's what Sirius Black did. He entered one's life to turn it upside down, and then he'd leave again. That had been one of the few facts of life Remus had learned at eleven that remained constant through all his life.
Only with Sirius, it was like they were drawn to each other, like that story that he had repeated to Tonks by the window at Grimmauld Place. Two stars in a binary system that were endlessly drawn to each other. While he left, it was always the eventuality that gravity would pull him back once more.
Another of the last things Remus would have ever expected was that he would return to him with absolutely no memories past 1981. The last thing he remembered was going after Peter, then nothing. It was almost like the Veil had apologised by taking away those terrible memories that had so traumatized him later.
They were his memories, but it wasn't in Remus to wish Sirius pain.
He had wanted to go to Saint Mungos, to fight for Sirius's right to have those memories back, if he wanted them. Sirius had looked at him oddly for a long moment, and shook his head.
"Let's make new ones."
Remus just nodded.
While the world was a different place, and they had been through too much to be the same people they were when they first fell in love, still some things did not change.
Still this odd gravity pulled them in closer and tighter. Still Remus would not give it up for anything.

Fandom's been depressing me lately, too. I especially have a lot of issues with the, like, hierarchy I guess?... of the Remus/Sirius portion of fandom as of late. It seems like most people are in a funk with fandom recently also. Weird.

There were many things Remus Lupin never expected to be doing. Giving Sirius Black a blowjob is one of them. Imagined, yes, countless times in the darkness of his curtained bed, with his hand on his prick, stroking hard. Hoped for, yes, because Remus was still young enough to hope for impossible things in the silent hours just before sleep and just after waking.
But never expected. Never thought Sirius would even look at him that way, if Sirius ever looked at boys at all.
But here he was, on his knees behind the equipment shed, Sirius’s cock in his mouth, hard and heavy on his tongue, sweat-salt and pre-come and Sirius overwhelming him, Sirius’s hands buried in his hair, not pulling, not yet, but letting Remus know when he liked something. Groans and grunts and half-garbled sounds that might have been Remus’s name filled his ears. The sight of Sirius, head banging against the wall, eyes closed, lower lip caught between his teeth as his body tensed, a moment of utter stillness before he came, spilling down Remus’s throat hot and bitter and just a little strange, though Remus has done this before, with other boys, was forever etched on Remus’s memory, to be played over and over again, a hundred million times in the years to come.
No, Remus never expected to be doing this, but he promised himself he’d do it again soon, and as often as possible.

Date: 2004-10-17 08:37 am (UTC)Remus started to laugh, the absurdity of the sentance momentarily squelching the sadness threating to overcome him. Fairytales, sometimes they were all that kept him going, and sometimes they were all that was needed to push him over the edge. After all, he had had a Prince Charming, once, but that story had ended long ago and now he waited for peace, for the day he could finally rest. But at the moment there was too much to do and he had his own damsel in distress to rescue...
Britian would be the first to fall, should the Dark Lord rise again, and he would do all he could to save the only woman Sirius had ever loved.
