A side effect of being a FA coder that I never expected is that people send me owls notifying me of updates to their stories when all I've done is create a review thread for them.

This is happening with one person in particular. I coded the first chapter of her Schnoogle story, reading nothing but the summary and a cursory check to make sure it was fine, and noticed with distaste that it was a Sirius/OFC story, which, although I've read Interwoven and various other very good Sirius/OFC stories, I am not a fan of.

But now she sends me owls every time she updates. And I keep trying to owl her back and ask her to take me off her update list because oi, I've never even read the story and I have no intention of doing so, I just created the damn review thread (which people should bloody do themselves as it's not bloody hard!), but every time I try, her owl box is full. So tonight I get another update notice and try to owl her back, but again, the owl box is full. And then I try to email her from her profile, but she's unplottable. Finally I take her email address from her fic page, and by this time I'm frustrated enough that I'm not as polite as I'd like to be. *sigh*

It's inordinately annoying--almost as much as yellow font that I have to remove manually. Or people who create their own review threads and then don't link to them in the submissions form (neatly defeating the purpose of creating your own review thread at all, as we coders still have to go in and code your fic that way). And people who seem to think that we're a beta-reading service, telling us to just fix all their errors for them when that's not the point at all.

Geez, I've been having a bad day. And I haven't even mentioned how annoyed school has made me--it's Homecoming Week, today's theme was "Battle of the sexes" where girls have to wear pink and boys blue, and completely aside from the fact that I don't even like pink and so own nothing of that color to wear (I wore complete blue), there's just something about that theme that I find offensive. I can't quite pinpoint it (my brain is so not working properly), but I just...urgh. (Okay, guess I've mentioned it now. :p)

Which means that Anonymous Person Who Bought Me More Userpic Time, you are an angel of mercy and I love you desperately. Tell me who you are?

Well, chances are that a person who depends on sending owls for updates isn't worth reading anyways. And somehow, my horribly twisted brain translates that into someone not worth being nice to.

As for the pink blue thing, that's just retarded. Being female does not automatically mean we like pink. I hate that color. I have a lot of pink, and I wear it a lot, but I don't like the color. I just like the way it looks with blue jeans.

But anyways, how sexist. Why is Homecoming Week so early for you guys? Ours isn't for another two weeks...I think. I don't really keep track of these stuff since I don't go to them. Will you?

Oh, I don't either. (School spirit? What's that?) But it's shoved in our faces all the time--posters up all over the school proclaiming the day's theme, people wearing whatever it is they're supposed to wear...it's impossible to escape.

The pink/blue thing is sexist and retarded (hence why I wore blue!), and totally did not take into account those of us females who don't like pink. I seriously own nothing pink, because I would never buy something pink for myself, and my parents know by now that I wouldn't wear anything pink they bought me. Stupid student body officers...

*shrugs* Homecoming Week is different for everyone, even within my school district. I'm frankly glad it's now so I can get it over with. I also intend to completely ignore Winterfest and Spring Fling, and, if my friends insist on dragging me to Prom, I'm going in a tux.

I think one of the things that annoyed me most about the person who keeps sending me update owls is that I didn't ask for them. I mean, sometimes I don't mind sending an owl to someone who asks for one if I update, as long as it's not too many people, but oi. Don't send something to someone who didn't ask for it, because it might be unwanted (like it was in this case).

Nah, I just happened to be reading the entry in which you said your extra user pic time was running up at the exact moment I was searching for my credit card to purchase more paid time for my other LJ (... the one I actually update... this one hasn't exactly been used the way it was intended to yet... oh well). And since you happen to be one of the few fanfic writers who I adore, but never leave feedback for *shrugs* consider it feedback saying something like "you completely rock!" *nods* Oh, and enjoy the extra pics :)

I'm with you with that pink thing. Pink, eurgh. And I'd so hate to be told what to wear in school, it would feel like a uniform. Especially if it's to oppose one half of the school from the other.

And I'd like to find something hopeful to tell you, uh, well... Have faith? Only three days before the weekend? Don't be so sad, there are still good old Remus/Sirius fics around? Don't cry, we know here that you're corinne and Rynne whereas Corrina is some sort of babysitter and rhynne is a word made from the old greek word for nose?
