Random disgruntledness
Sep. 19th, 2004 03:53 pmAnd I don't care if disgruntledness is a word or not.
Exhibit A: Rynne.
Notice the complete lack of "h" in that name.
WHERE THE HELL DOES "RHYNNE" COME FROM?
*is very disgruntled*
Exhibit B: iPod.
MOTHER: Here, a full-size iPod. Happy birthday!
ME: Thank you! *is queerditching and so does not install it yet*
queerditch_pub: *takes over my brain*
ME: All right, let's install all these iPod thingimabobbers so I can listen to LOTS OF MUSIC LIEK WHOA.
CD: You must have a Windows 2000 or better to install!
ME: *remembers the last time I tried to upgrade* ...This is going to suck, isn't it? *is prophetic* *goes searching for XP CD*
XP CD: *is elusive*
ME: *has serious deja vu*
XP CD: *is found*
ME: Okay! Now to upgrade so that I can use this lovely iPod...
XP CD: Watch me take forever to check your computer!
ME: ... *is bored* *wanders around house, wondering why twin is watching movie about fashion designer mob boss*
XP CD: Guess what?
ME: ...I'm not going to like this, am I?
XP CD: Nope! Because you know, your XP CD is not compatible with your network adaptor card! Go find something that is compatible!**
ME: *wibbles* Technology hates me, doesn't it?
XP CD and COMPUTER: *smugly* Yes.
**I asked my dad, and he says that all I'd have to do is reinstall the network adaptor software after I get XP up and running, but I don't have time today. And I was so hoping to get songs downloaded or whatever tonight...
Expect
queerditch_pub drabbles later tonight. I don't much like at least two of them, though...should do more of the birthday drabbles, then. Once I have time, of course. Bother.
But seriously. Where the hell do people get the "h" in Rynne? I've had at least three separate people who are not connected to each other in any way call me Rhynne...
Also, happy belated birthday,
schnurble! I wasn't online much yesterday...

Date: 2004-09-20 03:40 pm (UTC)And your twin.
I came back to reply, and I saw that you and your twin had a long, rambly comment conversation in the thread, and I remember her username was really long, and the weirdest thing was that it started off with your first name, and then was something plebey and iss000h4wtomg.
Maybe I'm spending too much time online........ :P

Date: 2004-09-22 08:00 pm (UTC)XD Thank Bob my twin's real username isn't that long--it's the same length as yours--and not plebey at all.
And thank God she mostly leaves this journal alone! :p

Date: 2004-09-20 05:56 am (UTC)Your name is so wonderfully short, but perhaps some people don't like short names, so they made it longer by adding the h?
Good luck with upgrading your computer. I ended up doing a complete reinstall after trying to get my notebook from NT to Win2K. But at least the registry was clean afterwards, no leftover entries from long gone progs, no cluttered up space for files I never needed...
