All right, what's the difference between hotlinking and hyperlinking? Is there one?

A hyperlink is just another name for a link. [a href="http://www.blahblah.com/here.html] link [/a]

Hotlinking is directly linking [img src=""] to an image file hosted on a different server so the other server's bandwidth is being used. Failed hotlink attempts often bring up error replacement images like "this image hosted by Tripod" in the page.
