Watched the Opening Ceremony until everyone wanted to go to bed, so I didn't get to see the last twenty or so countries come out, or the torch. Did I miss something good? I liked all the floats, and the firing of the rings in the water was cool, and it's cool that it's back in Greece where it was born...

...I think there are boys in my sister's room. And it's past midnight, my parents are asleep, so I don't know if they know they're there. This is making me slightly uncomfortable.

I'm tired. I don't know why, but I am. Not sleepy-tired, or weary-tired--not a physical tired, really. I'd say I need to take a break, if I hadn't been doing just that for the past week, and if I wasn't sure that I wouldn't be able to persist for very long without coming online and taking care of things here.

...There were boys in my sister's room, and now they just left. This is not making me much more comfortable, especially considering I am in my pajamas. Why must my sister be the very definition of stereotyped, boy-crazy, ditzy, teenage girl?

Anyway, I know that there's some new R/S in the fandom, especially considering how remus_remix and the Bring Back Black FQF just ended, only I haven't had time to read it yet. I'll read it all eventually, but I'd like to know which ones you recommend first, so I can check them out and maybe put them on my R/S reclist (which has just been updated, since the last announced update, with seven more fics, giving it a current total of 170. Once I have more time, I'll be putting red "New!" things around the new links, but that will at least have to wait until I get home).

Also, I'm just feeling a bit down, I don't know why. Could someone also rec me something uplifting (Remus/Sirius much preferred)? Happy and cute and sweet and all that stuff? I won't be able to read until late Sunday, I don't think (family reunion tomorrow--err, today and Sunday--so I doubt I will be able to use the internet), so you've got plenty of time. Just...please. Something happy. Sometimes I wonder if there's enough of that in this world...

ETA: Crush meme is up to 24 (!) (O.o), but I've only identified eight of them. I have no mad deduction skillz. Who are the rest of you?

The Bjork performance was excellent and the lighting of the torch was both wonderful and hilarious at the same time. Right now, they're showing a re-run of it where I'm at.

Random question: What exactly does an E-Mentor do? With the sudden influx of newbies (which I can only guess comes from the new title announcement), most of my last few posts have just been pointing people to threads where whatever they're posting about is already being discussed. And I usually get a thanks if they catch it before the threads get merged. And I kind of like it. I'm thinking I might apply next time they're looking for people.

Duties are very simple, really--we have three (minimum) six hour shifts per month, and for every person who joins FA during your shift, you send them a welcome email and owl, and if they ask you any questions, you just answer them. You don't have to be online the whole shift--it's easier if you just check it after it's over, so you already have everyone. And then you just enter information about your shift in a database. Very easy--I do more than twice the required amount of shifts every month, and have no problems. There's supposed to be another call either later this month or early next, so you should definitely apply!
