Bright sunshiney day...
Jul. 31st, 2004 08:07 pmWe've got hummingbirds now! *delighted* For my mom's birthday a couple days ago, my twin bought her a hummingbird feeder-thingy, so now we've got hummingbirds flitting around the backyard! We were watching one of them during dinner today. Hummingbirds. I didn't even know they lived in Reno, I would have the whole desert valley in the mountains would have put them off, but apparently not. Yay! Hummingbirds! :D
Am in such a good mood. Just got back from taking little sister and her friend to the movies, which is normally not very good-mood-inducing (as little sister is, to put it mildly, often whiny teenage brat (now let's hope she doesn't invade my journal too and see that XD)), but three of my most favorite songs came on the radio, straight in a row! "I Can See Clearly Now"--I love that song. It's like my favoritest song ever, and the most optimistic. I want it to be my theme song :D. (Though ahahahaha, two years ago I would have counted myself a pessimist. I blame fandom XD) And then "Born to be Wild"! *bounces* I love that song too (plus, it just screams Sirius and his motorbike :D). And then "Silly Love Songs", which is just sweet. Nothing wrong with filling the world with silly love songs! XD
And I have rediscovered other fandoms again *g*. I spent the afternoon reading a lovely Tamora Pierce (Circle of Magic, not Tortall, for anyone who reads Tamora Pierce--I know
ronniekinns does), though what I found rather interesting is that the person who wrote that fic also wrote "Broken Fate", a brilliant time travel fic on Schnoogle. Coincidences, hee! And now I'm reading in the Zelda (video game, Nintendo) fandom, for the first time in many many months.
And I want to write Good Omens fic. Too bad my brain is too deeply buried in Harry Potter to really write anything else. *sigh* And I really, really wanna write FFVII stuff, because there's a disappointing lack of Cloud/Sephiroth in that fandom, and I want to help remedy it. Bother this HP inundation...:D
Now back to finishing off the Snape/Lily (which I fell asleep last night before I could finish) and the reading of Zelda fics.
And. Doing eMentor shifts late is just far more trouble than it's worth. Note to self: always be on time, and leave notice if not possible to be on time.
