We've got our first entry for the Shakespeare challenge! *beams* (I still need to hand out lines for the last few people--the count of participants is up to nearly 60 now! *amazed*)

Mercy by [livejournal.com profile] xellas. HP, Snape & Lily, gen, PG.
The quality of mercy is not strained;
It droppeth as the gentle rain from heaven
Unto the place beneath. It is twice blest;
It blesseth him that gives and him that takes.

The Merchant of Venice, Act IV, scene I

Go read it, it's good! :D And one of my favorite Shakespeare quotes, too--I memorized the whole speech freshman year, and I still remember most of it, amazingly enough.

Also, something I forgot to mention about my day yesterday. One of the women was making a bodice for someone else who wasn't there, and she said that I looked about the right size and asked me if I would model for her, and I said okay. So I put it on and it fit all right, but it was when she was lacing me up that it became obvious that *cough* I'm better endowed than the person the bodice is intended for is. I was wearing a shirt underneath, but the bodice really pushed my breasts up and out, and one of the men asked me if I was over the age of consent, and then the woman said that it was only sixteen in California (which was where we were). I would have been laughing, if I'd been able to breathe.

And I finished So You Want to Be a Wizard, and I really liked it. [livejournal.com profile] terredancer, or anyone who knows, what's the next book in the series? I want to get it out of the library.

Wait, I know this one! *Runs to bookshelf* The next book in the series is Deep Wizardry - great book, lots of angst and lots of whales. I highly recommend it. *g*

I meant to sign up for the Shakespeare challenge thing - is it too late?

The next books in the series are 'Deep Wizardry' and 'High Wizardry'. I've only read up to the third.

Do you need help with giving out more quotes? I'm sure I could pull up a few with the Shakespeare lying around the house.

Diane Duane! <3! I prefered the The Book of Night With Moon series, though I read it so long ago that I can't remember much of the details, only that I LOVED it.

*grin* I see I don't need to answer the question.

Still, I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

That would be a GIGANTIC help! Every time I think I've got them all covered, more people pop up and want to participate, and Bartlett's only helps so much...I'll probably have to go digging through my Complete Works again soon...

Ah, So You Want to Be a Wizard. I love that series.

As far as I know, after the first one, it's Deep Wizardry, High Wizardry, A Wizard Abroad, The Wizard's Dilemma, A Wizard Alone, A Wizard's Holiday, and a supplementary book that takes place within the same universe, The Book of Night With Moon. And I believe the next one in the series, Wizards at War, comes out sometime this fall.

Hope this is helpful. ^^

And To Visit The Queen, the sequel to The Book of Night With Moon.

I love Diane Duane so very much; I've liked everything of hers I've read, and loved most of it. Including this series, naturally.

You're very welcome!

I forget how I learned about the sequel -- I think I was automatically checking that section of the fantasy aisle in some bookstore and happened across it -- but I'm always glad to help a fellow Diane Duane fan. :)

Also, your icon is fantastic!
