So, tomorrow I have to get up at five thirty in the morning. >.< I don't even get up that early for school; I get ready so quickly that I can get up at seven.

And I have to wear a skirt. And a bodice. Erk. Breathing really is bloody hard in those things. But I'm going to go be a "lady in the court" for this RenFaire thing for middle schoolers, which is very cool. Except that I 1) Have to get up at five thirty, 2) Have to wear a skirt and bodice, and 3) Am not allowed to wear my sword because women didn't wear swords then, grr.

I find it rather funny that I'm going to go be part of a RenFaire-ish thing just as I'm running a Shakespeare challenge. And that I'm typing this as I'm wearing those clothes, because as I'm getting up so early and probably coming home in normal clothes, parents wanted pictures of my Renaissance clothing. Took it with a digital camera, and so you all may soon be subjected to the picture of me wearing Renaissance clothing, should I ever be able to figure the damn thing out.

Also, should anyone want to suggest any lines for me to hand out, that would be a gigantic help. I've been looking through my Complete Works of William Shakespeare and finding some nice lines from random plays, but there are thirty-six of them, plus the narrative poems, plus a hundred and fifty-four sonnets, and it's a lot to look through, to say the least.

Gar. I have to go to bed early tonight if I'm going to manage a forty-five minute drive up the mountain to where this RenFaire thingy is. Blargh. Hate getting up early. *channels Eric Banyon*

Definitely a gigantic help; thank you! It didn't help that I've only really studied four of the plays in school, which is...not that many -_-;.

Really? *g* I'm addicted to Shakespeare. I've read most of the plays, although it's been a while. There's a speech in "Henry V" that I used to recite to myself before major exams because it always got me psyched.

How dorky is that?

I'd love a line from "The Tempest" or "MacBeth", or "Richard III"...

Oh, I love Shakespeare too--I've seen several of the plays, because I go to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland every year (...and now that you're on the West Coast, it'd be brilliant if you could come!), but some of his plays and lines are hard to understand unless you've studied them or seen them, which leaves most of them that I don't know much about.

There's also this...

http://www.online-literature.com/shakespeare/

And I think I know a way to do this that will save you a lot of trouble.

I'll use common keywords (woman, night, sword, love, etc.) from the index Bartlett's Quotations and search for quotes in all of Shakespeare at once.

I'll copy the quotes and send them to you.

You determine who gets what.

Sound reasonable? Want me to do that?

Welcome to the world of Renfairs!! The one in Brisbane I'm involved with is at www.brisbanemedievalfayre.com (I'll send you a link with some photos from this year).

Now - you must remember the mantra "WE DO THIS FOR FUN" and chant it at disgusting-o-clock in the morning as you help set up.

AND you can now get involved in fun costuming. Kirtles are good. In fact, Kirtles are so comfy!! And you can wear cute caps with them.

I'll try and find a piccy of my in my kirtle and post it.
