Oct. 17th, 2010 01:33 pmIt's fall break, and all four of my suitemates are off doing something. Four day weekend, and I get the suite entirely to myself. AWESOME. I am so looking forward to making enough money that I can afford to live by myself.
Along that line, sort of, there has been an unexpected snag in my law school apps. I went to see my pre-law advisor a few days ago just for some last-minute questions, and he was looking at my transcript and could not find my spring 2010 grades, from my study abroad. It hadn't occurred to me that they wouldn't be there because I first got my grades for that semester from Puget Sound sending me an unofficial transcript, and why the hell would grades be on my unofficial transcript but not my official one? I am still waiting for the answer to that question, btw.
So I start emailing the study abroad program, both in London and here in the States, trying to get my study abroad transcript sent off to the law school service. Except they tell me that they sent the official copy of my grades to my school, and therefore the official copy of my study abroad grades should be my transcript. Except it's not. I even went to the registrar to check and make sure. My study abroad grades are not on my official transcript.
I emailed the program, but it was Friday so I didn't get a reply. I'm just hoping that they don't have fall break the same days we do, or else I'll have to wait until Wednesday to even start to figure out what's going on. And of course I could do that, but I've got all my applications done except for this thing, and I want to send them off as soon as possible. I can't send them off without knowing what's going on with the transcript because they all want me to list my undergraduate institutions and I don't know if I should list the study abroad program as a separate institution.
I have no idea where my official grades are for that semester. Gah.
In other law school news, I think the LSAT went pretty well. I got plenty of sleep the night before, and the actual test was easier than I thought it would be. As long as it wasn't a huge trick, I should have done pretty well. I just have to wait another two weeks to find out. XD
In non-law school news, I...somehow got into Star Trek Reboot. IDEK. I found it on Netflix Live and have watched it like three times in the past month. And in the past few days I've been reading rather a lot of Kirk/Spock. I knew I'd get into that if I ever actually watched TOS (which I still haven't; all the ST I've seen, apart from the new movie, is maybe two episodes of I think The Next Generation), because the few things I actually knew about Kirk and Spock before Reboot came out had already pretty much hit my bulletproof kinks. I love a good bromance that is also romance (or at least, that fandom turns into romance :p). Still, getting into the fic now, a good year and a half after I saw the movie, rather blindsided me.
There it is, though. At least there's plenty of it. And maybe at some point I'll actually get around to watching TOS.
