Jun. 18th, 2006 12:53 amPaycheck, whoo! My first paycheck ever!
Nevada, I'm normally not thrilled with you, but...thank you for not having a state income tax! I get to keep just that much more money. :p
And it hit me today that having a job means that I have money that I can spend on whatever I want, without having to justify it to my parents. (Shut up. I've never had a paying job before.) And while books are justified (me having gotten my love of reading from both my parents), so I've never really had to pass up a book I wanted for lack of money, now I can get a bunch of TV shows and anime that I've wanted, but never wanted to ask my parents for.
Hmmm. Twin says that she's going to buy Firefly, so I'm not sure I should. I should start getting House from Netflix very soon. I want to get Yami no Matsuei, maybe Slayers...
Any recommendations for what I should get with my money? :p
eta: I need to update my website soon. Does Mac OS X have a built-in FTP program the way Windows XP does? *doesn't know that much about Macs still* Or if it doesn't, can anyone recommend an FTP program for Macs?

Date: 2006-06-18 08:46 am (UTC)Anyway, I have a Mac, and I use a program called Fugu, which may or may not do what you want - I've never tried doing anything website related with it. The rundown on it is here: http://rsug.itd.umich.edu/software/fugu/ Hope that helps.

Date: 2006-06-19 07:24 pm (UTC)My big project for next year is going to be adapting Lois Duncan's Down A Dark Hall to film. It was one of my favorites in junior high, and I think it has a lot of potential as a film. I would love it if you would help me with the screenplay.
Get back to me whenever. mmilligan@ups.edu

Date: 2006-07-03 07:48 am (UTC)And maybe I should get FMA, too, since I know a lot of people who like it. I've never seen it...

Date: 2006-07-05 06:24 am (UTC)FMA is total brilliance. It's just...everything I could ever want in an anime. Sometimes funny, sometimes heartbreaking, intelligent, and the plot and the characters really grab you. OH now I wanna see it again! I downloaded all the files for Windows Media Player - they're not torrents. Do you want me to try sending them to you? (They're subs, and I'm not sure if you like subs or dubs better or don't care, but I do think the Japanese voice actors are better in this case.)
