My computer is plugged in, but it keeps using the battery and says I need to plug in. What the hell? Why isn't the power cord working? It's not getting frayed, like my last power cord...

Two things to check:

If you have a warning box saying that your battery is low, close the box. Mine sometimes stays on even after I've plugged the computer in. It'll stay off if the computer is recharging, but it'll pop back up if it isn't.

Try a different outlet. It could be a problem with that instead of your power cord.
