Okay, WTF? I got sick pretty much exactly a month ago (give or take a day), and I only realized it because I had cramps then too. What is with my period showing up when I get sick? Do germs attract it or something? Urgh. And I've got sparring tonight. Bother.

In better news, remixes are up! I've been waiting for this since I sent in mine, so I'm glad they're up, even if I do feel like so much crap.

Frantic Rush for Now (Carpe Diem Remix) is the one written for me, from that Lily/James fic I wrote about two months ago. This one's wonderful, and it's got the Lily-proposing-to-James bit, and doesn't completely ignore the war the way mine does, and I loved it. Thank you, Anonymous Remixer. I can't wait until authors are revealed so I can thank you properly.

(Also, I can't wait until authors are revealed because I want to point to mine and say, "Look! I wrote that one!" I love mine, and I already got feedback from the author I remixed, and she loves it too, so I am doubly happy.)

Now I'm going to hope that I stop getting sick. Why does spring break only start next week?

Well, technically, sometimes girls' immune systems are lowered when they get their periods, so it's not especially surprising that you get sick around your period. ...Says the daughter of the women's health nurse, so I think I'm being accurate about this.

Um...excuse my ignorance, but can you explain what the remix is? ^^;; I've been in the fandom for a while, but I still don't know the term, and not understanding how this whole thing works.

Remix is basically taking someone else's story and either expanding it or doing it over your way. It's explained in the remixredux userinfo.

Does that work even if being sick predates the period? I've been sick since Friday but only got my period this morning.

Yes, because your immune system lowers shortly before your period starts. At least, this is how my mother tells it when I habitually know my period's coming when I start coughing and sneezing and things.
