My school is putting on a production of 42nd Street and auditions are tomorrow.

For the first time ever, I'm auditioning for the school play/musical. (Even if I am doing it mostly because it's 42nd Street and therefore involves tap dancing and I've been doing it for the past ten years. One of my friends told me I'm miles ahead of everyone else auditioning just because of that fact. I hope she's right, because I do rather want to be in this.)

Tomorrow's monologues, Thursday is song/dance, and Friday is callbacks. Gah. I'm all right with the monologue and happy with the dance, but the song is probably my weak point. I like to sing, but I don't know much about it, not even what range I am.

Well. If nothing else, at least I'm comfortable enough with performing that I shouldn't get an unbearable case of stage fright.

Good luck! And I'm sure that if you have good confidence on stage and the ability to tap dance, even if singing isn't your strong point, you should do wonderfully. ^^

*hugs* good luck on the audition and I know you'll do fine. There aren't a lot of people in the theatre world who are decent in tap, especially in High School (oh the memories of the attempted tap numbers during On Yor Toes and watching it from the pit *shudders*) You are GOLD.

Thanks. A studio near the school has actually been offering a discount in a beginner's class for people intending to try out, but I doubt they know enough to dance the actual choreography, and I learned part of it last year...:D
