Wow, Cedric is gay. I totally understand what the fandom is saying now. And Cho is such a beard for both Cedric and Harry, because the boys were totally digging each other.

When the Death Eaters storm the Quidditch World Cup, Twin turns to me and says something along the lines of, "Aren't they the KKK?" And they totally were. I understand that there's parallels between the KKK and the DEs, but I don't think they should have been that overt. Ditch the pointy hats, boys.

Er, Fleur. Why were you picked as a champion again? Geez, Newell and Kloves, at least let her do something to show that she's worthy of being chosen. I realize JKR didn't give you much to work with, but honestly Kloves, if you're going to make Hermione more badass than she is in the books, why not do it to Fleur too?

Dumbledore wasn't omniscient enough. Not that he actually is omniscient, but in the book he at least acted that way, and Gambon's Dumbledore seemed more human and fallible than he should be at this point in the series, imo. And I'm sorta wondering...the book gives us the impression that Voldemort using Harry's blood is significant, yes? Gleam of triumph and so on? Did I just completely blank out or was there no mention of that in the movie?

The scene where Harry and dead!Cedric get back to Hogwarts was completely HEARTBREAKING. Completely. Cheering crowds and triumphant music, not even realizing that Harry's bleeding and in shock and Cedric is dead...OMG. And then when people were trying to pull Harry away from Cedric's body and he refused to let go...heartbreaking. Dan Radcliffe, you have redeemed your acting in the first two movies (still haven't seen Prisoner of Azkaban!) with that scene alone. That was just...that was just wow.

Movie was really rushed, especially in the beginning, but eh, can't really complain about that, since it was necessary. They got most of the important bits in, I think, though I wish they'd had disbelieving!Fudge at the end.

On the whole, I liked it. Not going to be one of my favorites, but it was a good movie, and I wouldn't mind seeing it again.

Moving on.

In case you missed it, I posted fic last night. It's a one-shot gen Star Wars fic that's an AU of Episode IV, so you don't need to know anything beyond the events of the original trilogy to understand it. And I'm pretty proud of this fic, and would totally love it if more people read it and let me know what they thought.

And speaking of that fic I posted last night, it's the 100th fic/drabble/filk that I've posted on LJ. Out of all of those, five are Star Wars, one is Final Fantasy VII, one is a Harry Potter/Good Omens crossover, and the other ninety-three are Harry Potter of some sort. You can find the complete list of all the fics I've posted on LJ right here. And these are just the fics that I've posted on LJ...there's more that I haven't (mostly because in hindsight I don't want more people to see them).

But 100 fics! Total landmark, yo.

Anyway, now that I've linked you to that big list of my fics...anyone want me to do commentary on one, as that meme is apparently going around again? I've done commentary before--you can find the links to the commentary next to the link to the fic in the list. If you want commentary, pretty much anything on that list is fair game (except the ones I've already done), though keep in mind that the longer the fic is, the longer it'll take me to do commentary on it...

So, you definitely need to see PoA. In my opinion, it's not as good a movie as GoF, but there are some HILARIOUS bits.

Also, as for Cedric being gay... there's photo proof here (http://www.livejournal.com/users/roz_mcclure/626622.html#cutid1). Enjoy. :D

*sighs* I feel the same way. Which is a little disappointing, given that PoA had left me breathless in my theater seat. How did you manage *not* to see it, btw? I'm really surprised, and you've missed something great too, because ohmygod, PoA was pure brilliance. Rushed, too, of course, but I think...I don't know. It felt more rushed than GoF but at the same time more dynamic, if you know what I mean.

And I so agree about Fleur. As pretty as she was, and as good as she is at looking horrified (broke my heart when she was the first one to realize Cedric was dead), I kept thinking "wait a second, if she was that incompetent, the cup wouldn't have chosen her!".

Nope. Haven't really wanted to. :p

And hee, thanks. I think it means that I have no life, since I write so many fanfics...

I never really wanted to see PoA, so I didn't. It's not like I need to to understand the plot of the books. ;)

:D I love that proof.

I managed to not see PoA because I never wanted to. :p I've heard both good and bad reviews of it, and people keep telling me I should see it, but I still don't want to. So I probably won't.

When I read this this morning I was like "But...why would she go see GoF if she never wanted to see PoA??", and then I realized PoA was most probably your favourite book. Now it makes sense.

Oh, also, I forgot to mention yesterday, but Voldy definitely said something about Harry's blood. Remember, when he goes to touch Harry's forehead with his finger for five minutes and then says "It's amazing what a little drop of blood can change, isn't it?" (or something to that effect).

You're right about Dumbledore, too. As much as I like Dumby showing that he's human, it was too early in the story to show him in that light. He really looked as if he never knew anything that was happening!!

Except I am obviously lacking some braincells and forgot that the gleam of triumph came from Dumbledore, not Voldy. *hides in embarrassement* Then no, no mention of it whatsoever in the movie. But then there were so many things at the end that they left out and shouldn't have. I didn't mind at all all the things they cut out, because the movie worked as a whole, but I wish they hadn't cut out the unravelling of the plot and the exposition of the dark times ahead. It really didn't feel foreboding enough to me.
