Me, I originally thought he was just letting his hormones get away with him ("thinking with the little head").
That would piss me off as well--the Doctor's not supposed to be ruled that much by his hormones! Letting his "little head" do his thinking is as much against the character I know as the double standard thing.
I like to see the people I like happy (yes, even fictional people).
